Bad news. Alexander Frei apparently aggravated his recently healed torn calf muscle in training with the Swiss National Team. Now, he will be out for us for at least another three weeks. More than likely four. :mad:

Boy. Our injury list is deep. Especially at striker.

Frei is still out, but should be close to a comeback. Petric is out at least two more weeks. Buckley (even though he's played midfield all season) may be out a week or two and we don't have a word on Valdez' shoulder injury suffered in Poland last night.

Kehl is fitness training again, but I really don't expect his knee to hold up. I fear he may be done.

Degen is still questionable.

And the guys who are starting now still suck......

Dude, the amateurs who played last night are all better than Ricken.

F#CK RICKEN! HE'S HISTORY!

Why am I replying to one of my own posts? Because it might be time to eat my words.

We suffered TWO INJURIES in that match in Warsaw. "Kuba" also slightly tore a muscle and is out of the Bochum match. We will be missing eight regulars total:

Kuba
Mladen Petric
Nelson Valdez
Delron Buckley
Alexander Frei
Philipp Degen
and
Sebastian Kehl

Still we have enough amaturs not to play Ricken, but against Bochum, I think we should. I still believe Ricken sucks and is finished, but I also believe he would raise his effort against Bochum.

That being said, it looks like Doll still won't play him.

It looks like our lineup will be:

==========================Weidenfeller=================================

Akgun===============Woerns/Amedick=========Kovac/Brzenska========Dede====

==============================Tinga==================================

===========Njambe================================Kringe===============

============================Federico==================================

================Noethe=========================Klimowicz===============

But I would play Ricken instead of Njambe. I'd bring Njambe off the bench......

I don't think Doll will have Ricken on the bench, but I think he should. Our situation is that bad........ :(

Ok, so barring any setbacks who will be back for Leverkusen? Kuba and Petric? Valdez? I've lost track of who's hurt with what and how serious it is.

Any news on Kehl? Is he ever going to make a full recovery??

Unless there are more injuries on international duty, I would count on Kuba, Petric and Frei being back.

Frei will be tested during our friendly in Wiesbaden against SV Wehen-Wiesbaden tomorrow night.

Believe it or not, after Petric and Frei, I think our most IMPORTANT injury is Degen!

Why? Because Kringe has to leave midfield to play right back. I think we are much better off with Degen at right back, Tinga at sweeper and Kringe in Tinga's left midfield slot.

They think these shots he is taking in his knee are doing the trick, but they don't expect him to have a chance to be fully fit until after the winterbreak.

Which is fine by me, I think Tinga was doing a better job at sweeper anyhow.

Change!! The latest article at the Official BVB Website says Frei will not play tomorrow night in Wiesbaden!

Kehl is back in training, but don't expect him to be fully fit anytime soon. Degen is back in training too, but still has some problems.

Damn, that's scary :p (J/K)

I kinda like P. Degen (dribbling and speed when he doesn't screw up) but he still has a lot to learn and he his not 18 anymore...

Oh, I didn't say that because Degen is any very good player. I said that because of what we have to do to the rest of the lineup when he is out. Which is move our best midfield ball winner, Kringe, to right back.

And to me, that is another sign that BVB's management is not doing the job as they should. We should have real backups for Degen and Dede, but we don't.

They just pray that no one gets hurt.

Bad news. Well, maybe not so bad. Word from South America is that Nelson Valdez re-injured his shoulder in Paraguay team training. No word yet on how serious the injury is or how much longer he will be out.

Well, he played today and scored the game-winning goal vs. Uruguay. :)

Yes, we heard about that. He played despite his injury. I don't think he will in Dortmund.

There has been no official word yet. He only missed Leverkusen due to lack of match fitness. How much he still needed was not known. However, I believe if there is any way possible he can play against Bayern, he will........

It will help that the match is on Sunday and not on Friday or Saturday.

Frei will not be back before the second half of the season. He is undergoing calf surgery this week in Switzerland.

According to the Official BVB Website, Frei's surgery today was successful. He should need about three months recovery time.
