What sitters did Frei miss against Hannover?? I don't recall any and I watched the entire match.

He did miss two sitters in Gladbach, but again, I don't recall any against Hannover.

The one chance he did have, off a Pienaar rebound, was correctly ruled an offside.

I thought Frei was just plain awful again. Maybe the injury had something to do with that, but I think he's putting too much pressure on himself. The injury might be a good thing for him.

I think he needs to relax, play his game and the goals will come.

However, in Cottbus, I want to see what Smolarek and Valdez can do together.

I agree on Tyrala's talent, but I'd rather see him later than as the first substitute off the bench. I'd rather see Ricken as first substitute.

But of course, I bow to BvM's judgement.

correction....it was against Gladbach....

I only saw the highlights of Hannover match....against Gladbach - frei was just useless - seems so out of place...not sure if he's still adjusting to BL but if i can recall correctly - his start at Rennes was quite the opposite....
If I am Tinga or Pienaar - I am royally pissed at Frei's inadequacies in the box right now...

and yes - i am thrilled to see Ebi back....the last two games in BL showed more heart than 2/3 of BVB's players
scored a cracker against Kazahkstan in Euro QF as well....
as for Tyrala - I would sub him if there is a 2 goal advantage....of course - there are so many other variables to consider in game time situations but generally speaking - would rather use Lars' experience if the game is close

I don't know why you say that. I'm not saying this to anger you, but so far, Frei still is nowhere near as bad as Smolarek was in the second half of last season.

Yeah, he's been bad in the last three matches, but not so much that Tinga or Pienaar should be "royally pissed at his inadequacies in the box."

As I said in my previous response, I truly think Frei is putting too much pressure on himself to produce and it's affecting his game.

I think Frei felt he had to do it all himself once Valdez went down injured.

I think Smolarek's return to form should help Frei relax.

Also, I don't know what he did at Rennes in his first season, but I think "Kub1Null" said in another thread that Frei needed a year to adjust in France.

I'd say the last three matches and as far as I'm concerned, he's shown more heart than all of them, not just 2/3rds of them.

I'm really hoping BvM plays Ebi and Nelson in Cottbus. With the work rate both of them have, they might score four goals between them.

I said in one of the other threads that the entire time I was criticizing Ebi to holy hell, one thing I could not say was that he was not trying. I could not say he didn't give the effort.

A lot of these guys get frustrated and stop trying. Or so it seems.....

I didn't get to see it. Only read about it.

I woudn't wait that long with Tyrala. Besides, the way we're going, we may never have a two-goal advantage! :D

I just wouldn't make Tyrala first sub off the bench, that's all. That's more pressure on him to produce.

But, I think that will continue.

Please tell what is the point of you once again, bringing up Ebi's poor form in second half of last season, when I am talking about Frei's off-form CURRENTLY.
Where did I, in my OP compare and contrast Frei with Smolarek?.....pls stop beating the dead horse - it makes u look juvenile

GEEZ!!! WHAT THE HELL??!!

The point was simply to compare two Dortmund strikers in BAD FORM!!!

I MERELY compared two Dortmund strikers and their RUN OF BAD FORM.

I even tried to tell you that I wasn't making the comparison to anger you.

Don't f#cking flatter yourself.

That wasn't a shot at you or Ebi. It was simply a comparison of two Dortmund strikers in bad form.

From where I sit, you're the one looking juvenile.

And like a crybaby on top of it........

F#cking get over it already.

The transfer window doesn't open up before January. We don't need more talent. We need a leader/tough guy. Dhorasoo is not a leader/tough guy.

IMO, he's not all that talented either.

Yeah but he could be a backup player availble on a free, as we seem to have players dropping out like flys

Dude, Dhorasoo isn't going to join BVB to be a backup.

And we can't afford to pay what he'll command. He'll make as much as our highest paid players wherever he goes next.

Guys, I'm getting this back to an "Injury Thread". The rest of the stuff we've been discussing here can go in the "BVB General Discussion" thread.

Nelson Valdez suffered a minor injury to his OTHER calf in training this week. The BVB staff are working hard to get him fit for tomorrow.

Alexander Frei came through a full individual workout with our fitness/rehab trainer Egid Kiesouw. BvM is hoping Frei can complete a full workout session with the team today.

Also, rumors are going around that Kehl might not be available until after the winterbreak. :(

Amedick suffered a minor elbow injury in the final training before the Cottbus match.

He should be fine and is scheduled to train with the team this week.

Lars Ricken suffered a dislocated shoulder right near the end of the match at Nürnberg. From what I've read, he had it reset at a Nürnberg hospital and flew back to Dortmund with the rest of the team.

However, it is believed he will miss at least a few weeks while the damage heals.

Philipp Degen suffered a torn right thigh muscle against Aachen. He should be out anywhere from two weeks to a month.

Honestly, he was no great loss.

As far as I know, we had no new injuries come out of the Bremen match.

Unless Christian Worns needed someone to bend him back into shape after Miro Klose turned him every which way but loose on Klose's goal! LOL!! :D

He might be on the bench for the match against you guys on Saturday. Don't expect him to actually start anytime soon though.

Martin Amedick is on fire at the moment and BvM sure as hell isn't going to bench Woerns for Metzelder.
