*sigh*

I guess it could be worse...

Yeah. He could have tried to play on it, ripped it all the way and been out for six to eight weeks. ;)

Tinga suffered a torn groin (adductor) muscle against Stuttgart on Saturday.

He'll be out at least three weeks.

This could open the door for Kringe.

we all know what that means and let's be honest: We're not able to replace Kehl. Hummels is good but he doesn't have the qualities that Kehl has. Those qualities, which actually lead us to many victories in the past... I'm going so far as to say: I don't think we have the slightest chance to compete for a Europa-Liga place without Kehl.

I agree with you 100%. :(

But I do think Hummels can and will get better there.

He sure will but it won't be enough, I fear.

Yeah.

And I believe it was Kehl's play from that sweeper position which allowed us to put more effort into the attack near the end of last season.

Sure, we had some luck, but I truly believe Kehl pushed and inspired the team.

What sucks even more is that Tinga won't be ready for Bayern either. I fear that match is going to be UGLY. :(

Ribery might miss the match. But I hate the thought of either one of our backs trying to deal with Robben.

Is this turning into something we need to move to the match thread? ;)

Borussia Dortmund Denies Sebastian Kehl Operation Rumors

Original article by Sascha Fligge for Ruhr Nachrichten (http://www.ruhrnachrichten.de/sport/bvb/BVB-News-Verein-dementiert-Berichte-ueber-geplante-Operation;art11635,664068)

Borussia Dortmund is facing another spell without a captain to steer the ship. Instead of Bundesliga “ports”, Kehl floats from doctor to doctor. However, a club statement says that rumors on another surgery for Kehl are baseless.

In May, directly after the end of the previous season, Kehl had surgery to repair a two-sided adductor (groin) tear, which the player had been concealing for weeks. It is possible that stress is the reason the 2002 World Cup runner-up still suffers pain in the adductor region. He has had to stop sprint testing which followed the surgery. “I can handle about 80 percent of the maximum load. I cannot handle more than that”, said Kehl, adding, “perhaps I started to train too soon (after the surgery).”

Kehl has already been treated by German National Team Doctor Müller-Wohlfahrt in Munich. Kehl continues his efforts, but the success he hopes for remains elusive. Coach Klopp said, “Sebastian is suffering inflammation of a tendon in the adductor area.” A surgeon and a specialist in Munich confirmed this. Both came to the conclusion that Kehl does not need more surgery. Injuries such as these, which bleed heavily are hard to treat. Klopp says, “We will continue on and must show patience.”

Kehl Is The Soul Of The Team

Kehl, who will become a father for the second time in Fall, is the “Alpha Male” in Dortmund and is the soul of the team. He is the one it is believed can get this season on the right track. During the first four Bundesliga match days, Klopp tried Tinga, Sahin and Hummels at Kehl’s position. Everyone tried, but no one could adequately replace the captain. Midfield director Tamas Hajnal said, “I was totally in sync with Sebastian. I knew where he would be and where space would open up. Without him and with different players at the position difficulty is being caused.

On Saturday, the “great” FC Bayern München, with their speedy superstars Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery will visit BVB. Both clubs have only one victory and five points so far this season. The club losing Saturday’s match will be firmly stuck in the Bundesliga’s “no man’s land”. Sebastian Kehl’s hand in this match would be worth gold at Westfalenstadion on Saturday.

Something we have not seen in awhile.
Kehl in action.....

DORTMUND, Germany (AP) - Borussia Dortmund's captain Sebastian Kehl will be out for at least six more weeks with a groin injury.

My comments: I'm wondering if he had more surgery, but they aren't telling anyone.

But with our being a publicly traded club, we would have to reveal such news, wouldn't we??

I think if he's going to be out another six weeks anyhow and surgery can help, he should just have it.

Tinga is going to be out for at least three weeks according to "Kicker".

He suffered another groin injury during the Gladbach match.

May try to post an article translation later.

Out After Partially Tearing An Ankle Ligament:
BVB Coach Jürgen Klopp has to replace Tamas Hajnal © imago

Tamas Hajnal was a fixture in the Borussia Dortmund lineup. Now, coach Jürgen Klopp has to find an alternative for the playmaker position behind BVB’s strikers. The 28-year old Hungarian midfielder is believed to have suffered a partially torn ankle ligament in the 3 October Bundesliga match in Mönchengladbach. Thanks to the discovery of the injury, Hajnal returned to Dortmund from international duty with Hungary on Monday.

The Hungarian traveled with his national team for their World Cup qualification match in Portugal, but could not participate in training. On Monday, BVB team physician Dr. Markus Braun examined Hajnal and neither the club or player was happy with the diagnosis: Partially torn left ankle ligament.

As Braun clarified, Hajnal can either have the injury treated conservatively or through surgery. However, before any decision is made, a specialist will be called in to evaluate the situation. In either case, Hajnal will be unavailable for at least a few weeks.
