PK takers are always important in World Cup games, even in the first round. You just can't afford to miss PKs in a WC game.

Here is my pick for Iran:

Ali Daie
Mahdavikia
Hashemian
Nikounam
Karimi

Your keeper is far more important then your takers after 120 minutes in the field playing. Trust me on this. let's say all these players are starters will they all still be on the field to take pks later? Leg cramps wreak havoc at thaty time with pks. Will the oposing keeper guess a side? At that time of the game there are a lot of crap pks taken I don't care who takes them.

At that time in the game I would not have a keeper quess a side. Take a step out and just react to the shot. Then keeper will be far better off doing that if it goes down to pks.

That is why you need the best possible takers. You don't select your keeper as being the top PK stopper. That's a chance not expected from keepers, if your keeper turns out to be a good PK stopper, that's a huge bonus. But you don't ususally get everything in a keeper at the highest level, he would have to be the best to consistently stop PKs, very rare. How many post-first round teams advance after PKs??? It happens in every WC games. In the first rounds you can not afford to miss PK's.

No but you can change his stragey from the way he normally playes pk's at this time in the game.

Fernandes will be lucky to be going to Germany. I don't think it will be happening.

How about Ricardo? The English fans will surely remember his spot kick trickery ;)

Yeah I know...Fernandes definitly doesnt deserve a spot on the top 5 penalty kicks. Although I still think he should be going to Germany, espically with his improved recent play.

Ricardo...lol
