I know this topic was probably discussed many times before, but why is Argentina in a group of death two years in a row , while a team like brasil is in a easy group, two years in a row. I hope argentina or netherlands meet brasil in the quarters, but they probably won't meet there huh. What do u boys think?

Group of death? I don't care about being in a tough group. Bring it on! If we cannot beat the good teams in the first round, then we don't deserve to win the title anyway.
Last time we really should have beaten England and Sweden, and we didn't, so we got what we deserved.

That's exactly how we feel in Holland too. Besides if we get through the group we have an easier route to the final than most other group winners.

I'm happy you feel that way about argentina and netherlands, It shows your country has serious passion for their team and for the tournament. I just mentioned it because I'm sick of brasil getting these groups while others have a tougher time. Brasil in my opinion have the easiest group from their pod.
Thanks for replying.
Good luck to both argentina and netherlands, I hope they do well.

Well, I'm not that magnanimous;) I also feel that if Argentina cannot make its way through, they don't deserve the cup. But then also they would have to spend much more energy than other teams to get our of their group, so it's also a handicap for the future.
However I don't agree that Brazil have an easy group this time. Croatia has shown that they have no complex and will try to stand to any team. Japan and Australia will also fight hard. So, though I don't doubt that Brazil will come out of their group, I think they will also spend a lot of energy doing so.
The easy groups I can see are the ones of Spain and France.

Spain have a hungy Ukraine team in there group. France have the Swiss to worry about and korea who could cause problems...like they did to Italy in '02. Brasil will easily get passed austrailia and japan...croatia will get second...definete two to progress to round of 16. I agree it's more difficult than costa rica and china of '02 but it'll be a walk thru in my opinion as the easiest group.

group of death... i hate that phrase.
Argentina and netherlands will advance, the other two teams aren't half their caliber.. you'll never find 3 top class teams in the same group. unless you keep putting teams like mexico as top seeds.

Also we cant forget that Argentina had an easy group on 1998 and yet they didnt make it past quarter finals. In 86 Argentina had Italy in their group and Bulgaria, and yet, they made it all the way. group of death now or later, it doesnt matter. Teams like Portugal and mexico might think they are in an easy group, wait till the second round when they have to play the two winners of our group. Thats going to be a group of the death also.Thats a reality for all teams in the tournament.

Argentina and Holland are the TOP teams in this group, but it will be difficult for both sides to go through to the 2nd stage. The groups of Germany and Brazil are far to easy........

I have to say, Brazil deserves an easy group, they dominated the International football for the last 12 years. Besides, they play beautifull football.........

I maintain my position that Brazil's group is not particularly easy. Japan, Croatia and Australia are not really a match, but they will definitely fight it hard.

I don磘 have much confident in this current dutch team. This team is don磘 have got much experience. Players like Davids, Seedorf, Stam and Makaay are not in the dutch team.

 Why dont you hand them the cup already?
True that they've been a dominant power for ages, but does that make them deserve an easy group? No way! They should have been put in the toughest of groups, just to give them some competition according to your thoughts.
Anyway,no-one deserves an easy group.Not Brasil,not Trinidad & Tobago.
