Hello Bigsoccer members I am currently working on my A Level Media coursework in which I have to produce a magazine I have chosen to produce a soccer product magazine (like bootnr/bigsoccer/soccerpulse but in a magazine) This part of my work is for research and I would be very grateful if I could get as many replies as possible to help me with my project.
1. Do you like magazines?
2. Would you read a magazine about boots and other soccer products? (take in mind if you did not have bootnr, Soccer pulse or Big soccer)
3. What do you think will be a good idea for the front cover?
4. What would be the main attraction to a magazine covering soccer products?
5. What kinds of information would you like to see inside the magazine? (e.g. boot reviews/previews of new boots)
6. Finally if you have any other suggestions/ideas feel free to suggest anything you find relevent.

Boot reviews/previews/release dates/ Interviews with Players about the boots they wear/ boots that are lesser known but excellent buys.

I like the database idea the above poster had. Maybe even each issue has an article on the history of a company, like one issue you have a history of Adidas, next you have a history of Nike, etc.

I was going to fill this out, but then I realized that Cassano has exactly what I was putting down. So I second the survey above...

Have a once a year sort of design contest, you can go to a local college and asks students in design, etc. to make up a design of what the writers think the boots of the future will look like. Then put in some nice pics of the different kind of stuff the students come up with (the great thing about this is that it's free, can usually be integrated into a curriculum and let's some up the imagination of the designer).

Maybe attached samples of boot materials. For example, you could include something the size of an index card with a small piece of kangaroo leather, nike skin, kng, etc.

1. Magazines are allright, although I tend to not buy them anymore (for the last 5 years or so)
2. Yeah I would read such a magazine, although the point in brackets basically tells the story, thanks to the internet I can get so much information, faster and often from real people who will respond to question (ie a review mnay miss a particular detail I find relevant, on here I can ask someone who has the cleats/guards/ball....), hence I'd be unlikely to pay money for such a magazine given I get get most of it for free online.
3. Sponsored players modelling upcoming releases, or, in terms of sales, hotties holding new products! Although reviews by non-sponsored players would be ideal as these potentially be less biased.
4. If they could get exclusives on the new products, ie a pair of samples they can photograph from several angles, AND early leaks of new products for reviews.
5. A real good thing would be a product seeker, a list of where the best prices and deals can be found on products. Again, the problem with print now is that information quickly becomes dated, and is unlikely to be reliable by the time the magazine hits the shops.
6. A constantly updated online magazine that got it's money from membership may work, although im sure the info would just get ripped and put on internet forums such as these. In short, print media is dead, IMO!
