A new banner idea

What do you think about making a "quilt" type banner, meaning it would be made up of various patches to mark special occasions of the team? For the first few seasons it would seem bare but after a while (5-10 years) it would really start to fill up and have some meaning.

Already we have some history made in:
1. Our first game victory, a 5-2 thrashing of the Crapids
2. Ching's 4 goal extravaganza, it's not often you see a guy go off for 4 goals
3. Moreno's bicycle kick in the 90th, an exclamation mark on a great night

That is an awesome idea! I want something big to go up on the crowd after goals.

Not me. If we do this we'll have to come up with designs for the patches and figure out how we decide what deserves a patch.

Since 100% of the people that responded like the idea I made a mock up of one design idea.

I added the 1836 logo, Dynamo logo, and a patch for The Texian Army. The 1836 and Dynamo logos we'd have to get permission to use so they may not make it.

If anybody has other ideas or suggestions or doesn't think this is something that would work let me know.

I think OL already gave you guys permission to use the 1836 logo right? I can't imagine them not letting the supporter's group use the Dynamo logo as well, so long as it's not destructive in any way.

I was thinking around 3' x 3' or 4' x 4'.

Holy crap - I'm just now thinking, then, that this thing will be monstrously huge before all is said and done. We'll need more space and more members!

We can make them smaller, like 1' x 1', it depends on how quickly we want to add to it. Right now there's a lot because the team is new and a lot has happened (two names and the innagural game) but most games probably won't get patches. The real question is how many patches would we realistically add in a season? There's stuff like supporter's sheild, MLS cup, open cup, a few for outstanding performances by players or the team, sweeping the series against Dallas. That would probably give us around 10 a season give or take.
