My work life revolves around the SAT I, I will definitively tell you for a fact that it is now out of 2400. Math, Verbal, and a new Writing section with an essay that replaces the SAT II Writing. Now you only need to take two SAT II's, Math and your choice.

Are you sure?
I know that SAT II is 2400, because you need to take 3 papers. But as for SAT I being 2400.. hmm. But as for that Asian attitude, I'm well aware of that. I scored 1460 (or 1480..) for my SAT I and I was very, very unsatisfied.
In March 2005 they added a writing section (or something like that) also totalling 800 points, hence the 2400 now. Bastards... I was always proud of my 1240, now that'll be considered a low score.

Can you give me secret tips for SAT I and II? :D
Not that I'd need it.. it's not needed for Grad school, right?

1860 would be the current equivalent of your score, AND LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING [/Stephen A. Smith], that is an absolutely excellent score. That would get you into any school but the absolute, Ivy-type elites.
Unfortunately, I live and work in the spoiled children capital of the world, Orange County, so anything short of 2400 and we are blamed for not preparing them well enough, not giving them enough practice, or not just flat out taking the test for them.

You want to know the secret for the SAT? It's very simple: use common sense. There's so much BS on those tests that is meant to fool you, if you can just sift through it and pick out the valuable stuff from the rubble, then you will be absolutely fine.
Not needed for Grad School but you will need to take some sort of standardized SAT equivalent for your Grad School app. LSAT for law, MCAT for med, GMAT or GRE for business, etc.

I know, but I always don't do well on the Verbal section of the SAT.. the highest I got out of two tries was 700.. Some novel vocabulary really boggle my mind, though.
I think most universities require GRE as a standard.. so I'll have to look that up.. oh well..

700 on Verbal isn't good?
Dude, that's an incredible score, you really need to give yourself more credit and confidence about your test-taking skills, that's the only way you can ever be fully confident and in control when taking a test.

Never taken SAT in my life. Took 1 ACT, got 25 (out of 36), that was enough to get me where I wanted.

I think most universities require GRE as a standard.. so I'll have to look that up.. oh well..GRE has 2 sections EXACTLY like SAT math and verbal when we took it. Review the same kinds of things when you study for those sections -- I think it's just a bit more advanced. Then you have a section where you write 2 essays. I didn't notice any discernable difference between the difficulty of the SAT and GRE, although I did alot better on the SAT, I guess because I was more nervous and prepared the first time around.
On another note, 4 kids in my senior class (of 150) made 1600s on the SATs. Made my (really good, actually) score seem like a failure to me at the time.

You hit a puddle and didn't spin out and crash into a tree? Wow, far above the average California driver. :D
No seriously... I fear for my life everytime I'm on a road in that state. I think it was two near-death experiences in the space of four days, couple of the most bizarre road experiences ever. Plus hilarious tales of people's driving in "bad weather" from my friends who moved out there.

People in DC, drive just as moronically. People here think that 4WD means you can drive on ICE.

2 years ago took a trip from Sunnyvale to LA (about 6 hour drive) from 4 am Friday to 2 am Monday, we averaged 85 mph on the 101 especially early morning/late night for most of the trip, and there were a bunch of cars that weren't just passing - they were flying by.

It's not really the speed (out here if you drive a paltry 85 on I-57 or I-88 or any road that leads out into the sticks, get ready to be tailgated if you hang in the left lane). It's the people randomly changing lanes without even thinking to look. It's the people who have no semblance of how to merge onto the highway, who actually think they're supposed to slow down when merging. It's the fact that some moron left a several hundred pound concrete drum in the middle of the highway on the 101 that we came within about six feet of smashing into and that "Ponch" was probably too busy hitting on the hot blonde to notice that it should be moved (or the highway gunfight, or the pure, uncut cocaine ;)). I mean, for being a place where no one walks or uses public transport, you'd figure Californians would be better drivers, right?

You fail to consider our large Asian population.
Before the neg reps start flying in, I'm just kidding, geez.
