Sounds like the popularity of Madden there is a bit like Winning Eleven here (FIFA is way more popular, I'd call it mainstream in fact). WE appeals more to soccer geeks (tough to understand it unless you at least watch professional soccer or have played at a high level, not AYSO and their "boot it and run!"-style soccer), but I have a few friends who like the game despite not being fans of the sport in general.

It is the same here with Pro Evo (same game, different name... which I guess you already knew). All my mates who have a good football knowledge/brain (two entirely different things, as an aside), or have played the game at any level are fans of Pre Evo. Meanwhile, those who would only watch a match if United, Liverpool, Arsenal or Chelsea were on and against a decent team, swear by FIFA.
Of course some of it has to do with people's ability to loo kpast advertising as well - the FIFA-heads I know (a dying breed, thanks be to God) tend to get swerved by advertising in most/all walks of life, as opposed to actually stepping back and looking at hwatever is on sale vs. whatever it is competing with (e.g. MTV vs. independent music stations, or Hollywood blockbusters vs. indie cinema [which doesn ot necessarily have to mean art-house by any means]).

Is that on Xbox Live, or PS2? I can get onto XBL, but I have to wait for my brother to get back from college with the Xbox.

Its on PS2. Unlucky eh.
Ive played a user on here before. You guys might remember him. Jrod69 who came on as a newbie, and got flamed to death and hasnt been on here since. Was a pretty fun match.
Speaking of Angry, Im playing the game right now as a little study break, and its so hard to break down defenses once you get on six starts. Ive been passing around the back trying to keep the ball for the first 20 minutes of the match.

I think thats what most hardcore Winning Eleven/PES gamers are waiting for. Winning Eleven 10 or Pro Evolution Soccer 6 on the next generation systems. The games graphics were pretty average on the ps2 and xbox, but with better graphics, more animations, and other shit like that, its going to look a lot more authentic.

Registration for Fall 06 started at 1pm eastern. I'm stuck at work with the school's website running really really slow. I've been waiting to get these specific classes for two years now and I can't access the site because it's so damn busy!

Everyone gets to register at the same time?

Not everyone registers at the same time. Sophmore register at one time, then the seniors follow, transfer students, etc. It's just that the school is huge and the website is poorly constructed to handle so much traffic.
I got some classes down though, after half an hour of loading and cancelling and re-loading. Some classes as I predicted filled up before I could get to them, unfortunately.

I hated registration my first couple of years in college because it always seemed like the sections I wanted were filled and I ended up taking a bunch of 8 am and 9 am classes. But by junior and especially senior year, it got much better and I finally got the kind of schedules I could only dream of before, like no classes on Thursday or nothing at all before noon, that sort of setup. You just kind of have to stick it through and hope you can at least get into some section of your class, if not always the best one. Always helps to look a few days into the semester too and see if anyone has dropped in the section you want, allowing you to transfer.

When I register I always look for early classes; starting the day at 9 and ending at 12 or 1. This allows me to go to work right after even if I come home late and tired. However, the next semester all my classes are falling late in the afternoon to evening, exactly what I didn't want but they're the only ones available so I'll just have to stick it out and try to work in the morning or something.

My first year and I haven't had a class or section before noon until this quarter, when they somehow screwed up my tuition payment and dropped me from all my classes. Now I have two morning classes.

Morning classes are the best, if you have nothing planned after class, you get out early, get home and just relax for the rest of the day, and even catch the afternoon PL or CL games.
