Shakespeare is an overrated bum that I frankly have no interest in. The language has evolved, it's just a shame the traditional sentimentalists in charge don't seem to recognise this.
I can't agree with that - classic writing should be recognised regardless of time period (or, indeed, language). I've never been able to understand how some otherwise-enthusiastic English students can't stand Shakespeare/Chaucer/others who I probably don't know about (obviously, the ones who don't like English have a valid reason). I'd love to be able to understand Beowulf in the original but as it stands Heaney's translation, which apparently is one of the most faithful to the phrasing and rhythm of the original story, will do me. Wonderfully evocative.

ANGRY.
Thank you ticketmaster. Despite waking up and getting online well before tickets went on sale, I was unable to get tickets to see radiohead in concert this summer in chicago. I am such a sad panda right now. The highlight of my summer is gone. All that's left now is to drink the summer into oblivion. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Yeah I tried to get tickets to that, as did about five of my co-workers. We got nothing. No idea why Radiohead keeps trying to play these small venues in big cities.

yeah, and i can't really decide if this makes it better or worse...i "obtained" a radiohead concert in mp3 format from a concert in washington several years ago (before hail to the thief) and it is absolutely amazing. it's a 24 (i think) set gig and the sound quality im surprised is just fantastic. ive been a casual fan of theirs for awhile but a few months ago i started to listen to them more frequently and now i have to say im just astonished by them. head and shoulders above the rest, imho. the reason why i say i can't decide if the live show i got is good or bad is that on one hand, it's great to listen to, on the other hand, it just built my hopes up for that concert and now i'm gutted that i can't go. im just praying that muse will tour the us soon, to ease some of my suffering.

For long periods, irregularly :p
It's 4.45. I don't really know why, I've just always been more of a night person - I think I prefer the quiet. I'm actually working on a report at the moment...only seem to settle down to work properly in the late evening/night.

Well for me it's 9am on Tuesdays and 11am every other day. I've mastered the art of arriving at 11.04, just before anything starts happening but just long enough for me to squeeze the last drops out of naptime.

He has some good stuff (for my money, A Midsummer Night's Dream has probably aged best of all his works) but imo a lot of what he wrote (or stole from Marlowe, depending on who you listen to) is very overrated and is based more on reputation than anything. Much Ado About Nothing, for instance, is one of the most horrible pieces of supposedly great literature (or playwriting, to be more specific) I have ever written. I'm just not a fan of Romanticism whatsoever - it's not based on saying anything new, but just trying to sound overly-extravagent; it's incredibly pretentious imo.
Oh, and I have a bad feeling that I failed a class on the c**t. If I have, I might be finding myself back at square-root one in college next year. :(
The only positive right now is that Radiohead are playing in Marley Park in July which is only about a10 minute walk from my house. I didn't manage to get a ticket, but there are always 'other ways' of getting in, or if not I know some people who live across the road from the park, so it's always possible to have a few drinks in someone garden and still be able to get a good listen, then head out to a club or somesuch afterwards.

I hear you man. I wasn't able to get Radiohead tickets for their 2 shows in Toronto in June. They really should play at bigger venues. Tickets to show's like theirs get sold out almost immediately. Dammit. No Thom Yorke this summer.

I'm angry that you don't give yourself enough credit and that that git has been getting credit for stuff you wrote for hundreds of years. If he weren't dead, we should kill him!!!!

:o LOL!! I cannot tell you how knackered I was last night, but the insomnia wouldn't let me get to sleep (so I came back on BS briefly).
It did mean that I got to watch The Panic in Needle Park (http://imdb.com/title/tt0067549/) though, which I had been meaning to do for quite a while. Not a giant post-Godfather Pacino fan, but in the early-mid 1970s he was fantastic, and had one of the coolest accents of all time. Which was nice...

Phew, I was about to start a "How old is billyireland?" thread.:D
Option 1: billyireland got down with Eve before the serpent did.
Option 2: billyireland really shot the arrow that befell Achilles.
Option 3: billyireland made the speech at Beowulf's funeral.
Option 4: billyireland cannot stand the sight of unleavened bread.
Option 5: billyireland taught God about football on the seventh day.
