I watched it several times while in high school, once in class, and the others on my own.
I thought it was interesting, and entertaining.
It's definitely worth a watch.

I don't do very well with most sci-fi, but I found it fascinating. I still have the occasional nightmare!
Yea, it's a must-see.

Personally I found it tremendously lame in a "MST3K" kind of entertaining while sad and funny way. Plus I felt like I my TV had a layer of green jello over the screen the whole time. I'd still see it, as it is a classic for whatever reason. And there's one certain line that will either creep you out or make you laugh out loud depending on what you thought of the movie.

Wow. I'm surprised Netflix doesn't have it, either.
Pretty funny reading the comments. What was once a somewhat scary look at a very bleak future is now laughable. I liked Edward G. Robinson in that flick, but as usual Heston's an overacting cornball.
Off-topic, but if you wanna see a prophetic movie about "the future," check out the original Rollerball. I hadn't seen it in about 20 years, and we watched it last night. That movie nailed several things about early 21st-century America: the increase in popular appeal of ultraviolence (and resulting desensitization to it), casual drug abuse, the fact that corporations hold major sway over world events, even the metaphor that those who are really "in control" can "change the rules" at will. Overall, not that great of a flick, but still interesting to see another 70s view of modern times.

"The Omega Man" also starring the NRA spokesman. Chuck does a pretty good job in this post-apocolyptic film. I really liked it when it first came out, probably early 70's?

I saw it on AMC or Turner Classic Movies or something like that. It's a nice, entertaining escapist movie, but no, I wouldn't say it's worth ordering by mail. You probably need to find a little ma 'n pa video stores that hasn't bothered to clean the shelves. I'm lucky enough to have one of those nearby.

Omega Man is a trip. Very, very fun to watch. The opening scene with Heston driving around is one of my all-time favorites.
