The scary part about this - years ago, after my son had started to play travel soccer - his last intramural coach told him the tap HAD to go backwards. Maybe she was just ahead of her time?

What i don't understand is why they didn't change Assistant Referee back to Linesman. We've adapted to offsides, now we need to bring football back to its roots, with Linos and offsides-es.

OK folks,

Since this one was blown wide open from the very first reply, I guess I'll own up to it. Obviously, this is an April Fools Day prank. The good-hearted and technically savvy soul who runs the local soccer board which I help moderate, set me up with the IP address and also kindly downloaded a previous FIFA release with graphics and everything.

I wrote all the content myself. I'm especially proud of the changes on handling and PKs... although, you should have seen some of the ones I originally proposed, then cut out (such as a challenge flag for coaches, and a 5-minute sit out for yellow cards... standing at the touch line, wearing a dunce cap).

Please forward to gullible referees at your own risk.

Although I knew it was prank with the whole "offsides" thing.

Someone should do a poll as to referees biggest pet-peeve; is it "offsides" or "handball"? Any others I missed?

I don't care about handball. Offsides annoys me to no end however. I generally have to stop listening to someone as soon as they say "offsides".

Well done. But watch out, FIFA has lots of lawyers with time on their hands. I would have probably been careful to group all of the changes to law 12 together and probably put them in numerical order by Law number to make it look even better.
