Some of you may know that I finally scored 2 tickets for USA TST5 today (Fri. 3-31-06)...tickets that I have been trying to get since Sept. 2005.

The tips on these boards and specifically in this forum helped me out tremendously. I wanted to start this thread so others can hopefully join in on the success. And since the tips are spread out on different threads I wanted to put it here in one easy to access thread. BTW I am not claiming the glory for all these tips ... I did figure out a few things on my own but this is a Big Soccer FIFA World Cup, Fans, Travel & more group effort.

I’ll try to make this as straightforward as possible, but this tip page does assume some level of knowledge of the FIFA ordering process.

The key is to get yourself on the Secure Web Server
This is done so you can bypass the robot code page which takes too much precious time once a match or TST series has come up.

The ticket acquiring process goes like this.

1. Open up the FIFA ticket master page in all 4 languages (English, German, French & Spanish). Refresh these pages constantly to see new matches come up. To initially get yourself to the Secure Web Server, go to the individual matches rather than the TST pages. More tickets become available on the single game pages.

2(a). When you see the bold R on a match, click on it and if there’s a package to click on DO IT NOW! Then you will proceed to the robot code page. Input the code and before you click on the next button, copy the URL of this page and paste it into a new window. KEEP THIS WINDOW OPEN AT ALL TIMES . You can minimize it out of the way until you need it. This will be your 1 hour “Refresh the German Cookie” backup.
2(b). If you had clicked on the bold R and found no packages available don’t despair. You can camp out in that area by staying there and refreshing the page every so often. If you’re in a match like say (the ever popular) Iran vs. Angola, a new set of tix should come up more frequently., You need to be able to at least choose a package in order to get to the robot code page.

3. If you were successful at inputting the robot code and hitting the next button you’ve almost to the Secure Server. You will probably get the dreaded “Red text error message page” telling you that no packages are available. Go to the upper left of this page and now click on the Single Tix link or the TST link. CONGRATS, you’re now on the secure server!

4.You’ll now notice that the FIFA tix page now starts like this https://ssltickets ..... etc. Go to each of your other language tix page and input a s after the http and a ssl before the tickets. Now you’re in the Secure Server for all 4 languages. Let the screen refreshing begin! This will last you for 1 hour until you’ll get the dreaded “German cookie” message. Proceed to Step 7 for re-entering the robot code.

5. Now that you’re in the Secure Servers, keep refreshing. If you’re really lucky and see a bold R for a package you want, click on the link. If there are no packages, don’t despair! Copy that URL and open a new window and paste the URL. NOW YOU CAN CAMP IN THAT PACKAGE OPTION PAGE!. Keep refreshing the screen and if another package comes up jump on it! As added back-up I copied the URL from this “Package page” and then copied it into my email program so I could easily click on that link if I somehow lost it in this ticket-buying madness. Note: If you’re on the Single Tix Secure page, and you get to several “Package option pages” but there’s no packages to select -- you can copy the URLs for each of these and open new windows and camp out in all of them. Refresh and monitor these closely for new tix to come up.

6. If you’re successful with step 5 (ie -- you were able to select a package) and then get the “Red text error” message, keep refreshing this also. If nothing happens within 15-20 minutes, the tix are probably gone. Go back to your “Package Option page” (from step 5) and start refreshing again. Keep refreshing your other Secure Server language pages too.

7. After about 1 hour you’ll receive the “German cookie” message. This will happen for all Secure Server windows that you have open. Go back to your open robot-code window (from step 2). You can hit refresh on it and input a new set of robot code and you’re good to go for another hour. Go back to your 4 language pages and refresh and your camping experience will continue. (You may have to reopen the 4 language master tix pages after you start up your new cookie -- just remember to input the s and ssl to get back to the Secure Sites.

Whew, that’s about it. Proceed with all these steps and if you’re really looking for a single game, you’ll probably be much more successful there than on the TST page. But I was successful on the TST page and I hope you all are too (if that’s what you’re shooting for).

BTW, I got my tix on the German page. This is what I did to get my TST 5s. About an hour before my success, a TST3 USA came up. No dice, I wasn’t quick enough, but I copied the “Package Page URL” (from step5) and pasted it to a new window and camped there refreshing every so often. Then 1 hour later I saw TST5 for USA. I clicked but too late -- the dreaded “Red text error” message. I kept refreshing constantly for about 10 minutes straight and then my epiphany -- it took me to the order screen!
I input my log-in (I already had an account due to my unsuccessful FIFA lottery entry in January). The screen already had put my information in and then I had to input my guest’s info. Did I say that this was the German language site? So as I proceeded to go to the next page I wasn’t sure which button to push, I don’t know German (figures, I know Spanish and French -- & English of course -- and would have had no problem with those). I have a translator on my MAC called Sherlock and when I input “kaufen” and the English translation said “Buy” I pressed it.
Then an error message in German! I went back to the screen (which was the pay screen) and saw that I had neglected to check the disclaimer boxes. I did and then the computer started churning for about 30 seconds. And then another German weird-type page, was this a successful transaction? And then I received the dreaded “German cookie page” -- I was in utter agony.
Then remembering past tips from this forum, I went to my customer service page log-in and then logged in and there it was! My order for 2 CAT-2 TST5 for USA! I immediately called Mastercard to make sure the charge wasn’t rejected, and they told me that it was already there and had gone through! Joy and utter craziness soon erupted from me and I went running through my office screaming and whooping it up.
I’m going to Germany! Me voy a Alemania! Je vais en Allemagne! Ich gehe nach Deutschland!:p

For a computer idiot, can you explain what the benefit is of getting to the secure site? Thanks.

Way to go Christine - well deserved I might add.

See you in Germany in 70+ days!

Yeah good job cswan! I'll see you in Gelsenkirchen.

I can only think of three other little tips to add:
- Instead of keeping windows open, you can bookmark any secure pages that you want and return to them. I'm pretty sure that they'll always work as long as your cookies are updated (as long as you are within your 1 hour window).
- If there is a particular match you're looking for, but you never get a chance to click on that [R] from the "single tickets page," you can just click on any [R] that's available. Once you are on the Iran-Angola "package option page," just edit the part of the url that reads: "key=40" and change it to whatever your event number is. For example, for Argentina-Holland, change it to "key=37". You can keep refreshing this and if anything ever came up for Arg-Ned (unlikely) you would be 5 seconds ahead of everyone else.
- Regarding automatic scripts: On some of these forums people have mentioned the "page update checker" tool for Firefox. That is a pretty useful tool, once you figure out how to use it properly. Also I found a thing called "WebSite-Watcher," which you can google, download and use free for 30 days. (I can't guarantee it doesn't put some kind of crazy spyware on your computer though). With either one, you can program in the secure "package option" pages that you are interested in (in all 4 languages) and it will ping them every X seconds, and alert you when there's a change. That can be VERY helpful if you are near your computer and ready to pounce.

For a computer idiot, can you explain what the benefit is of getting to the secure site? Thanks.

There are many, many people waiting to pounce on the more popular games. Lets say you and I both click on the 'R' for USA v Italy at exactly the same time, and that I'm in the secure site and you're not. You have to enter the code of numbers/letters to prevent "robots" buying tickets and I go through to enter my details. You miss out and the frustration continues.

One other thing I noticed was the difference between lcd monitors and the old crt's. At work, with a nice LCD monitor, I could scroll quickly and pick out the games quite easily. At home, the crt monitor was almost impossible to pick out the difference unless I scrolled slowly. What did I do? I went out and bought an lcd monitor! I wanted one for a long time and FIFA was able to get me to do it...

Because your cookie expired. You have to enter another one and then you can referesh all the pages and they will come up just like they were.

I'm hoping that this happened after you had already been on the Secure Server for about 1 hour & your cookie has expired.

If that is the case than I would advise you to refresh the robot code window that you have open before you input the new code.

If after this you still receive the "German cookie page", then re-open new windows (of the FIFA order page) for each of the 4 languages. Make sure to input the s and ssl for all your new windows to once again enter the Secure Server. You should be good to go for another hour.

Good luck!

I'm having the same problem as PERO. At the first time that I receive the red error code, and when I click the "Single Tix" link, I receive the German cookie page.

I have 2 PCs connected to a wireless router (that is connected to the ADSL modem). One PC is connected through a cable (The problem occurs only in this PC) and the other PC is connected to the router by wireless and the "trick" works !
By the way, when I connect my laptop directly to the ADSL modem, the problem also doesn't exist. So, I concluded that there is one definition in the PC that is causing the problem. I checked a lot of "internet options" related to cookies. I deactivated NORTON too. Nothing helped.

ANY IDEA ?

I'm ready to give one Iran v Angola ticket to the one that fix the problem (just kidding  )

Your cookie last an hour. If your cookie has NOT expired and you enter the anti robot code your cookie will NOT reset to another hour. The only time you should be entering the anti robot code is to renew your cookie after it has expired or if you have deleted your cookie. I usually delete my cookie after 45 minutes and get a new one. I don't want to be caught with an expiring cookie if I get in to buy some tix.

Thanks, BUT, Just to clarify: I'm aware of what you wrote, but the problem isn't related to the expiration time of the cookie. It happens even when I just logged in my PC, deleted all existing cookies and at the first time that I refresh the red text (after the robot code).

I have the same problem when I am at work and try to use a Mac. Safari does not work with the FIFA site. I have messed with the cookie options but it still does not work.

That's really bizarre. What browser are you using? After you enter the robot code, do you see the FIFA cookie in your cookie list (should be called "ssltickets.fifaworldcup.com" or "fwctc_css") ?
I have had some weird problems with Firefox... but even then if I delete the cookie by hand it always works.

To the people who've had problems getting the German cookie page after 5 minutes.

I'm not sure what to tell you either. As some people have posted here, it's probably a browser or cookie issue. How to fix? I wish I was more technically inclined ... but I'm not. Hopefully others will be able to shed more light on the issue.

BTW, I got my tix via Netscape 7.1 (Macintosh version). Yes, you read correctly, I can hardly believe it myself. I much prefer Internet Explorer but our email system here at work is set-up on Netscape, so I do all my Internet surfing on it too.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for everyone on these boards. As I've stated before, if I hadn't read all the tips and tricks here, I know I never would have lucked out like I did with my TST5 USA tix. And luck being the operative word.
