Some of you may know that I finally scored 2 tickets for USA TST5 today (Fri. 3-31-06)...tickets that I have been trying to get since Sept. 2005.
The tips on these boards and specifically in this forum helped me out tremendously. I wanted to start this thread so others can hopefully join in on the success. And since the tips are spread out on different threads I wanted to put it here in one easy to access thread. BTW I am not claiming the glory for all these tips ... I did figure out a few things on my own but this is a Big Soccer FIFA World Cup, Fans, Travel & more group effort.
I’ll try to make this as straightforward as possible, but this tip page does assume some level of knowledge of the FIFA ordering process.
The key is to get yourself on the Secure Web Server
This is done so you can bypass the robot code page which takes too much precious time once a match or TST series has come up.
The ticket acquiring process goes like this.
1. Open up the FIFA ticket master page in all 4 languages (English, German, French & Spanish). Refresh these pages constantly to see new matches come up. To initially get yourself to the Secure Web Server, go to the individual matches rather than the TST pages. More tickets become available on the single game pages.
2(a). When you see the bold R on a match, click on it and if there’s a package to click on DO IT NOW! Then you will proceed to the robot code page. Input the code and before you click on the next button, copy the URL of this page and paste it into a new window. KEEP THIS WINDOW OPEN AT ALL TIMES . You can minimize it out of the way until you need it. This will be your 1 hour “Refresh the German Cookie” backup.
2(b). If you had clicked on the bold R and found no packages available don’t despair. You can camp out in that area by staying there and refreshing the page every so often. If you’re in a match like say (the ever popular) Iran vs. Angola, a new set of tix should come up more frequently., You need to be able to at least choose a package in order to get to the robot code page.
3. If you were successful at inputting the robot code and hitting the next button you’ve almost to the Secure Server. You will probably get the dreaded “Red text error message page” telling you that no packages are available. Go to the upper left of this page and now click on the Single Tix link or the TST link. CONGRATS, you’re now on the secure server!
4.You’ll now notice that the FIFA tix page now starts like this https://ssltickets ..... etc. Go to each of your other language tix page and input a s after the http and a ssl before the tickets. Now you’re in the Secure Server for all 4 languages. Let the screen refreshing begin! This will last you for 1 hour until you’ll get the dreaded “German cookie” message. Proceed to Step 7 for re-entering the robot code.
5. Now that you’re in the Secure Servers, keep refreshing. If you’re really lucky and see a bold R for a package you want, click on the link. If there are no packages, don’t despair! Copy that URL and open a new window and paste the URL. NOW YOU CAN CAMP IN THAT PACKAGE OPTION PAGE!. Keep refreshing the screen and if another package comes up jump on it! As added back-up I copied the URL from this “Package page” and then copied it into my email program so I could easily click on that link if I somehow lost it in this ticket-buying madness. Note: If you’re on the Single Tix Secure page, and you get to several “Package option pages” but there’s no packages to select -- you can copy the URLs for each of these and open new windows and camp out in all of them. Refresh and monitor these closely for new tix to come up.
6. If you’re successful with step 5 (ie -- you were able to select a package) and then get the “Red text error” message, keep refreshing this also. If nothing happens within 15-20 minutes, the tix are probably gone. Go back to your “Package Option page” (from step 5) and start refreshing again. Keep refreshing your other Secure Server language pages too.
7. After about 1 hour you’ll receive the “German cookie” message. This will happen for all Secure Server windows that you have open. Go back to your open robot-code window (from step 2). You can hit refresh on it and input a new set of robot code and you’re good to go for another hour. Go back to your 4 language pages and refresh and your camping experience will continue. (You may have to reopen the 4 language master tix pages after you start up your new cookie -- just remember to input the s and ssl to get back to the Secure Sites.
Whew, that’s about it. Proceed with all these steps and if you’re really looking for a single game, you’ll probably be much more successful there than on the TST page. But I was successful on the TST page and I hope you all are too (if that’s what you’re shooting for).
BTW, I got my tix on the German page. This is what I did to get my TST 5s. About an hour before my success, a TST3 USA came up. No dice, I wasn’t quick enough, but I copied the “Package Page URL” (from step5) and pasted it to a new window and camped there refreshing every so often. Then 1 hour later I saw TST5 for USA. I clicked but too late -- the dreaded “Red text error” message. I kept refreshing constantly for about 10 minutes straight and then my epiphany -- it took me to the order screen!
I input my log-in (I already had an account due to my unsuccessful FIFA lottery entry in January). The screen already had put my information in and then I had to input my guest’s info. Did I say that this was the German language site? So as I proceeded to go to the next page I wasn’t sure which button to push, I don’t know German (figures, I know Spanish and French -- & English of course -- and would have had no problem with those). I have a translator on my MAC called Sherlock and when I input “kaufen” and the English translation said “Buy” I pressed it.
Then an error message in German! I went back to the screen (which was the pay screen) and saw that I had neglected to check the disclaimer boxes. I did and then the computer started churning for about 30 seconds. And then another German weird-type page, was this a successful transaction? And then I received the dreaded “German cookie page” -- I was in utter agony.
Then remembering past tips from this forum, I went to my customer service page log-in and then logged in and there it was! My order for 2 CAT-2 TST5 for USA! I immediately called Mastercard to make sure the charge wasn’t rejected, and they told me that it was already there and had gone through! Joy and utter craziness soon erupted from me and I went running through my office screaming and whooping it up.
I’m going to Germany! Me voy a Alemania! Je vais en Allemagne! Ich gehe nach Deutschland!:p
