LAGOS, Nigeria - Soccer referees in Nigeria can take bribes from clubs but should not allow them to influence their decisions on the field, a football official said on Friday.

-Wow! I can't understand this one. You can take the bribe, but don't let it influence the game? I am sure that the club that just gave the ref money would want a little retribution if their bribe doesn't effect the game.

-Will FIFA kick Nigeria out for something like this?

Hey, it's Nigeria. They've got oil ministers, or surviving family members of oil ministers, who are just itching to give you millions of dollars every day via email. Why not pay off the refs for doing nothing in return?

Hey, don't make fun of those emails. I actually received about 1.3 million dollars US in my checking account as a result of one of those emails! I'm not joking!

The thing is, i need a second account to put some of the money in to avoid any trouble from the government, so if anyone can supply their checking account number, i would appreciate it. Of course you will receive a handsome reward ;)

I just don't think the ref will take the money and not influence the game. I am sure that if these families have enough money for bribes, they will have money for other "less pleasant" forms of influencing the game or the request they made with the bribe.

Hey, I'm all for it. $50 for putting up with grown men acting like children just ain't cutting it anymore. ;) :D

Why don't they just create a price schedule.

$1000 per penalty.

$3000 per send-off for opponents.

This way, everyone gets what they pay for.

Would there be any kind of exclusivity? Would bidding be allowed if two teams were competing for the affections of the same ref?

If promotion/relagation were on the line, I'd hate to sell out a penalty for a measly G to the first customer, especially if more could be had.

Also, wouldn't it be great if the teams could up the ante during the game?

"That was a late tackle, and the referee is reaching for his front pocket. Wait! The trainer is running onto the field with an envelope! The referee takes the envelope, and now HE'S GOING TO THE BACK POCKET! And that's the third send-off tonight for the SuperEagles, who still lead 2-1, but are now playing with only eight men."
