God damn it, does this mean that I'm going to have to endure yet another round of articles in The Atlantic Monthly and Salon about how Bob Dylan changed the writer's life?

Dylan announced a couple days ago that he will be playing in my hometown, Asheville, with Merle Haggard. What a show.

Fair point. If a moderator wants to change the title, please do so.

Wait until he dies, every writer in the country will have to pen a lengthy eulogy. And the expression "National Treasure" will be trotted out like there's no tomorrow.

These songs are great. I have to imagine Columbia has these tracks slated for an upcoming volume of the Bootleg Series. With Cash's popularity these days, these tunes would sell really well.

I take it you guys don't collect bootlegs, eh? There is some great stuff out there that Columbia won't release but are easily attainable. The Cash/Dylan bootleg is a great one but there are many more out there if you know where to look. And I don't mean eBay.

Nice find.
I learned something today -- the "I Threw It All Away" on President Yo La Tengo is a Dylan cover. I never owned Nashville Skyline.

Is that Carl Perkins playing on "Matchbox"? I think I hear Johnny Cash saying "Mr. Carl Perkins" and "Go Carl" but I never knew Perkins played on those sessions.
