and Catholics have more!

According to a study referenced in this article:
http://www.prweb.com/releases/2006/3/prweb357377.htm

You can download the actual data from the study from here (http://www.centerforreason.com/report1.htm), but it will cost you $10.

i'd have a difficult time feigning surprise, just more do as i say and not as i do crap

maybe if christians want to clean up the country's morals, they could start in their own families and churches

Data analyzed for all fifty states show that the rate of abortion is the same in the most-Christian segments of the population as it is in the least-Christian. The most-Catholic segments, on the other hand, showed significantly higher abortion rates.

By studying "segments of the population". Yea. That oughta reveal some real trends and tendencies...

While I don't doubt the study's findings, I'm leery of any study that hasn't been published in a peer-reviewed journal, especially when the reader has to pay to read the report.

Not all Christians are pro-life

As for the Catholic figure, it's easy to blame it on the Church's teachings on birth control but I just don't see it, at least among people my age. I go to a Catholic university and know maybe 2-3 people who abstain for religious purposes, and absolutely no-one who is sexually active but does not use birth control because of religious teachings (I know a few people who are sexually active and don't use birth control because they're morons, but that's not the Church's fault). And even if you believe that using birth control is wrong, it's certainly the far lesser of two evils when compared to abortion.

I'd be interested to see what the abortion rates are among white, black, and 4th or higher-generation American Hispanic Catholics vs. 1st-, 2nd-, or 3rd-generation Hispanic Catholics.

The other issue lurking beneath the Christian/pro-life surface is the tens of thousands of ferlized eggs out there that are frozen, and will never be used by people needing a little fertility boost.
