fer cryin out loud, Pearce, it's Monaco, not Monte Carlo. simple facts are the easiest to check.

and this Jurgen kid has got to be 100X better than the old PR guy.

Not that you give a rip what a Galaxy fan has to say, but I do believe the new uniforms are very sharp.

It will take some getting used to for me, but I'm sure that I'll warm up to it very soon. It's a classic look that won't need to be changed every year.

I think the new kits are nice but the logo looks really puny and out of place. The Rapids need a sponsor on the front, like a certain Italian tire maker. :)

I might buy one of those. Black and blue may be alright.

Notice the color around the logo and ColoradoRapids name. Theres your green. See, its not completely gone. Its more prominent on the new bumper sticker. Got mine courtesy of Rocky Mountain Soccer in Boulder.

I´m glad to see that the original logo with the soccer ball has returned, that is a more classic look that the splash rapids thing from last season.

I was against the change, but all in all, not too shabby a job by Atletica. Now if only MLS would let them have their way with the Dallas logo...

Acutally the "splash" logo has always been the Rapids primary logo, and the round logo a secondary one.

I think they should scrap both logos. The river one is pretty weak, and the soccer ball insignia isn't too easy on the eyes either. The Rapids could do much better.

according to Rapidfire, photos of this uniform and the away and 3rd kits should be posted on the Rapids website tonight after the unveiling event; and if you go to the site now it's down and says come back at 9pm.

I agree on the Monoco thing but not the comment on the old PR guy. Rich Schneider was a huge improvement over both of the previous guys in my opinion. He treated every press person the same and gave equal weight to stuff written in the local rags and us guys that writer for the websites. I for one will miss Rich and hope that Jurgen is as good and as receptive to the stuff we Internet hacks produce as Rich was. If it weren't for the biggest club in the world prying Rich away, the Rapids would have been lucky to keep him around.

At the risk of being unpopular and only confirming the decision in the Rapids front office, I too must say "I'll miss the green, but these are pretty cool too!"

Thought that I read a rumour about free replica jersey's for season ticket holders. Any truth to the rumor?

Our new man looks like he just rolled out of bed for that picture. If so, he's a guy to whom I can relate.

The article had an interesting reason for coming to the Rapids: any other team in Europe would be a let down. So coming to the US provides enough novelty to overcome being released by Arsenal. That is kind of interesting. I hope his heart is in it but everyone so far says the guy is a total pro.

I agree with the prevailing sentiment: the uniform is sharp but I miss green. Maybe green will show up on a third jersey.

Doubtful. I think it's gone for good. What's the point of making such a drastic change in brand identity if you're going to incorporate the green into the new uniforms? The green will slowly fade away completely in time.

Christ, that's one big ass logo on the home page at the moment. On a dialup connection at the moment, yeah I had a lot of fun watching that download and not fit in my browser window.

:p

As for PR guys, one thing I hope is that he brings the experience of working with the Revs website to the Rapids -- and has the time to help take care of it. For everything else that Rich Schneider did well, the Rapids gave him nowhere near enough time to make sure the website was accurate and up-to-date (let alone fresh with original content).

FWIW Schneider was also the one who chose to change the site around to its current state.
