Sorry, couldn't resist
The Bouncy Seats: Will there be enough air freshener to protect the RFK faithful from the Red Bull invasion?
Steven Goff: I have no response. Just felt it was important to post.

Goff did speculate about us going to a 4-man backline

Edited cause I f'ed up. No surprise there:
Goff predicts 4 in the back with a triangle midfield and Freddy out on his own on the left flank.
Here is his regular (not opening day, since Gomez is out) lineup :
Perkins
Gros-Erpen-Boswell-Prideaux/Wilson
Carroll-Olsen
Gomez - Adu
Filomeno-Moreno
So its a 4-4-2/3-5-2/4-3-3 combination..

Goff predicts 4 in the back with a box midfield.
Here is his lineup for opening day:
Perkins
Gros-Erpen-Boswell-Prideaux/Wilson
Carroll-Olsen
Gomez-Adu
Filomeno-MorenoIf Goff can make Gomez eligible for opening day, I'll take it!
Edited to say that Goff actually mentioned that Gomez is suspended for the opener.

Actually, I think Goff said that DC will normally play a triangle in midfield with Adu isolated on the left with a more stable defender behind him. On the right, Gros will play on the flank of left defense and midfield. It seems fairly similar to the flexible 3 5 2 that Nowak has always favored.

::ego deflates::
well they could drop Jaime into Gomez's spot- and start Esky
The flexibility would be part of the advantage of a 4-2-2-2

New Jersey: Have you embraced the colors? The colors that can change at a moment's notice at the whim of a corporation and its checkbook?

Line of the chat!!
Arlington, Va.: Does Clint Mathis have a chance of making the World Cup squad? He seems to have become the Bode Miller of American soccer after such a promising start to his career. Also, with the domestic success Taylor Twellman has had, why is he not considered a lock for the team?
Steven Goff: At this point, Mathis couldn't make Bermuda's national team.
