I am a registered Democrat. However, I consider myself a moderate. I agree with conservatives on certain things and with liberals on others. I tend to lean left a bit though.

Pretty much the opposite.

Oh man. That's a shame. Keep trying though. I had to apply to the school of my choice three times before the picky bastards accepted me. Something about me not having finished my Masters or summat. What are you studying?

I've been very well thanks. Busy and I get to pick my new really superkewl motorbike up next week.

I've applied to several programs for German Language and Literature, aka the only thing I'm remotely good at and/or interested in.

Speaking of motor vehicles, my car is making a strange rumbling sound. Maybe it has to do with the fact that I drove from here to Atlanta and back again last week.

What's the opposite of a moderate? An immoderate?

The Bush administration and this country are slowly sinking. On a lighter note it only cost me $45.00 to fill my tank up today.

Mission Accomplished! Way to go Mr. Presdient can you please start a war with Iran so gas can go up to $8.00 a gallon?

I know, maybe if they paid European prices then their massive social service problems could be solved.

I know, maybe if they paid European prices then their massive social service problems could be solved. The right wing would never go for it. Social services go against everything the right wing stands espescially the long standing belief that social services only help the lazy and the non-white.

High prices might spur more investment in public transportation and non-fossil fuel energy sources but again corporate America (primarely big oil) is so entrenched in the political system that I don't see this happening without major changes in the political and economic stucture.

My point is that the Bush administrations policies directly benefit his major corporate backers.... big oil. Bush is an oil man form Texas is it a surprise that the oil corporations posted record profits last year?

Little known fact: big oil companies posted huge profits during the Clinton era.

Little known fact: big oil companies posted huge profits during the Clinton era. They always post huge profits but under Bush record profits have been posted in consecutive quarters. Google that shit some time when your bored it's amazing some of the shit pulled off by this adminstration in plain sight.

Not to mention the cozy relationship Enron (and Haliburton) had with Cheney.

But at some point, you have to realize that the reason this sort of thing is allowed to happen is because of our use of capitalism. If it isn't oil companies pulling in record profits, then it was other companies doing the same under Clinton's reign. Capitalism is a system that awards monopolies and punishes everyone else, so to fix this problem capitalism, and not just one President, would have to be eliminated.

I agree 100% with you that it's unchecked capitalism and it's easy access to our elected officals is the main problem. I guess I'm just amazed at how out in the open the Bush administration is with some of their dealings.

Don't get me wrong I'm not totally against capitalism, it just needs checks and balances to keep big business in line with ethical and social responsibilites. IMO the energy industry should be heavily regulated by the Federal government.

"I am, you know, adamantly against illegal immigrants." "People have to stop employing illegal immigrants" - Hillary Clinton December 13, 2004

"I want to thank you for raising your voices and joining with people all over America and ask for fairness. Your faces are the faces of America. The faces of those who give us a good day's work, and often not at a fair day's pay," Hillary Clinton. April 10, 2006

Another great candidate from the Democrats.

President George W Bush told Palestinian ministers that God had told him to invade Afghanistan and Iraq - and create a Palestinian State, a new BBC series reveals.

So what are you against religion? Why is it bad that a guy incorporates his beliefs into his everyday life?
