Here's a really, really, really BAD idea... we could sing "Dwayne" over and over again to the tune of that song from My Fair Lady that goes "the rain in Spain stays mainly in the plains."

disclaimer: I am not in any wayshapeorform suggesting that anyone who values his manhood, myself included, actually sing this.

Even though I absolutely loathe belafonte this is a much better idea than the My Fair Lady idea.

That's not saying much ;)

...but that is a GREAT idea. Simple and easy. We're doing it, it's final.

just sing some "Bob"....
we all know he likes reggae. Plus it shows that houston loves soccer and reggae, which I'm a big fan of both.

How about..

get up, stand up!!!! Stand up for.... your rights....
get up, stand up...dynamo fight! fight!! fight!!!! :D

give me some time and I will come up with a few more.

How about since he plays for the CNT, we go ahead and put his name into O' Canada? I'm sure most people know how the melody goes

Oh, Dwaye De-Ro
We love when you score goals
Your free kicks are great
When bent or when they're straight

(Then I guess you'd have to skip to the end of the song and skip over the stuff between)

Oh, Dwanye De-Ro!!!
We pledge our loy-al-ty.

Kinda stupid, just spit balling here on a slow afternoon though!

Sung to Row your boat:

Ro ro Dwayne DeRo
He will score some goals
Merrily merrily merrily
Dwayne is on our team

For Yanks:

ay ay ay ay canta para De Ro
porque cantando se aprende
cielito juego a cantarlo todo

along those same lines to the tune of "cielito lindo (as nobius did above):"

ay, ay, ay, ayaaayyy!
dwanye de-ro-saariooo!
he shoots, he scores,
while your whole team snores!
he's dwayne de-ro-saariiioo!

ay, ay, ay,ayaayyy!
dwayne de-ro-sariooo!
he bends the ball
around your dumb wall!
he's dwayne de-ro-saarriiiooo!

Actually I think this would sound really good. My suggestions are that we drop Dwayne and stretch the De-Ro over the rest of the line. The rest like this:

O' Deeee-Roo!
We love it when you score!
Goals for the orange and white of Dyy-naa-mo

Yes, I've been bouncing this around in my head for a while, but you get the props for getting it rolling before I could! :D I hope this pans out.

BTW, O' Canada (for meter):
O Canada!
Our home and native land!
True patriot love in all thy sons command.

With glowing hearts we see thee rise,
The True North strong and free!

From far and wide,
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

God keep our land glorious and free!
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

I wonder if it would bother him if we changed the lyrics to Canada's national anthem. It would seem weird to me if someone did that for the USA national anthem.

Understood, given the problems we've had recently. The tricky thing about the Canadian national anthem is that we wouldn't be pissing off other fans, but about half of our team! That might be bad. For the moment, I'm for developing it, it's a pretty song to sing to and would sound good in a stadium. We can always ask him at one gathering or another...

The US national anthem is a patriotic poem about an 18th century battle, sung to the tune of a 17th century drinking song. If I had been a player in some foreign country and they made a similar song for me, it would have been cool by me. (It's the Constitution I care about, not the flag or the song.)

Like others have said, I think that would be a perfect, and easy to pick up song. We should definately get that one going in my opinion.

I think they would love it if we just sang that opening and closing to O Canada when one of the Canadians (not DeRo we have a better song for him) scored. I know if I was abroad and the fans sang that for me I would be appreciative.
