PS. Did anyone catch the Aussie Grand Prix? ******** Button, why? Dear God why?

Just watched it yesterday. Craziness thru the whole race! 4 safety cars??? Geez.

Alonso is again proving how good he is. And altho Schumi crashed out, I think the only person who can give Alonso a challenge is Kimi.

Button didn't finish due to a tactical move on his part. He'll be able to change the engine without a penalty next race. If he finished, he woulda picked up a few points, but also would have had to start 10 places back for the next race, due to the new engine. So he'd go thru qualifiers, and whatever place he ended up, he woulda dropped 10. The new rules state that if you change an engine prior to qualifying, you drop 10 spots, if done after qualifying, then you start at the back of the grid. But if you don't finish a race, you can change it without incurring a penalty.

For me, I'm glad he didn't finish, so Fisi could come in 5th and pick up more points for Renault! :D

Alonso is pure class, although Im not a fan of his, I can appreciate his skill. And I agree with you that Kimi is probably the only serious threat to Alonso again this season.

Yea, and that's kind of the point.

To have the grid determined by which team can organize the best draft?

Disregarding the positive effect of the draft, I think open qualifying is great. I hated it when they originally got rid of it. Though some teams were going way overboard... everyone would go out with 5 minutes left, and hold up each other, and no one would actually get a fast lap in :D (local yellows would often come out too, and ruin fast lap times)

I am a fan, not a huge huge fan though. Everyone once in a while I will catch a race with my grandfather. My whole family watch the event when it comes to Montreal though, we make a like festa of it!

I root for Villeneuve and Monteiro:)

P.S: Montreal is absolutely CRAZY for those 4 days that F1 is in the city....Like when I say crazy you dont know....

McLaren have admitted that leaked Ferrari data had been more "widely disseminated" within the team than previously suspected.
"McLaren greatly regrets that its own investigations did not identify this material," said a McLaren statement.

In a statement issued on their website, McLaren confirmed that the concerns of the sport's governing body, the FIA, over the use of unauthorised Ferrari data were legitimate.
"It has become clear that Ferrari information was more widely disseminated within McLaren than was previously communicated," it said on the website. "McLaren has written to the World Motor Sport Council to apologise that it has taken an FIA investigation to find this information and have expressed our deep regret that our understanding of the facts was improved as a result of the FIA inspection rather than our own investigations."

Finally, they are owning up to their cheating:rolleyes:
