Uh oh.

BEWARE THE DC101 CURSE!

I'm not so worried anymore about an Elliot in the Morning Curse. Olsen's been a regular guest of theirs for probably 3 seasons now.

Rimando's friendship with the class grew from thier relationship with Mrs. Rimando.

DC101 curse?

The original DC101 regular interview was Agoos. Who was traded the next offseason.
The second was Talley. Who was traded the next offseason.
The third was Eddie Pope. Traded in the offseason.
The fourth was Ray Hudson. Who was not picked up for a third year.
The fifth was Olsen. His first year was Ray's last as coach.
The fifth was Rimando. He's been around the last two seasons.

The curse seems to have been lifted.

FYI for thiose not listening

Nick is out until at LEAST week 2
Ben does not think he has a shot with the national team - if fact no DC players do
Nick thinks all three US goalies will be non-MLS (no real surprise there)
Ben noted the team lacked experience and leadership last year
Jaime is the real lockerroom leader
The team hopes to get out of the gates early with all the April home games
Ben and Nick both commented MLS is the only league playing during the WC - and Ben noted playing more (not sure what that means since the schedule was trimmed down during that time I thought)

United plays 7 games during the World Cup.

You forgot about discussing the rumor about playing Barcelona in August. Which I hope is true.

And thats what I get for believing Don Garber - however, I am not sure that is such a bad thing since We won't be missing any players.

When is the team assembled? Mid-May?

If we aren't missing any players, that's going to be a stretch the team had better take advantage of.

Mid-May-ish is what's in my mind. The advantage to the schedule is that we'll play KC three times when the WC team is assembled, and NE twice, and there's an LA game in there as well.

Man, it has been years since I listened to Elliot in the Morning (used to live in Leesburg). I do remember that one of the cool things he did was support DC United.

Cool because it is unusual for Soccer to even get a mention, let alone support from the local media (including morning talk radio). The big show in these parts, "Lex and Terry Show" actually has a big MLS fan (FC Dallas) as the promotion/person taking care of things behind the scenes guy, but that still equates to little to no mention of the sport usually...

Kinda sucks, but then again things are changing slowly for the better.
