I don't care if no one else cares... its huge for Ames. He took alot of stick for saying Tiger Woods was beatable a while back and he's completely vindicated himself. He didn't just win either. He won going away, by 6 strokes. Really, really, really impressive victory for the guy.

Tiger hasn't been much the past few years.

Tiger hasn't been much the past few years.

That's the impression you get if you haven't followed golf closely for awhile. Prior to Tiger, only someone like Jack could have the last 5 years Woods has had and make it seem anything less than amazing.

Woods isn't God anymore, just the best golfer out there. I really think the limitation he has in terms of the clubs he has to use are hampering his game - his driving with his current club set is piss poor compared to before he was tied down. I'm not trying to make excuses for him, because even considering the above he's still not played his best.

 He's still the number one ranked golfer in the world.

I'm thinking in terms of "catching the greatness that was Jack's career type pace" that he had the first few years of his career.

He's only 30.

Halfway to Jack's major total already, he can probably do it. I've never been a huge Tiger fan personally, but he's definitely a likeable character.

Of course I'm pretty bad at golf, so its hard to make any criticisms from where I stand. :o

he's well ahead of the pace. unless he gets tired of owning people he could easily be competing and wining majors for another 15 years. 20 isn't out of the question either.
