Texian Army Web Site

The web site is starting to come together, so it will be up and down over the next couple days.

I've got a few announcements and requests, so thought I'd start a new thread and keep it up to date.

First off, I need graphic ad banners created: 468x60

Here's the RBG Color codes we're going to be using:
orange: 255,123,00
black: 0,0,0
blue: 153,204,255

If you've got some graphic talent, you'll know what how to use those and how to go outside those colors.

The main message of the banners is:

Join the Texian Army!

Of course, you're willing to rewrite that however, but the goal is to get new members to sign up/enlist/join or whatever word you want to use.

Also, with the domain name, texianarmy.org - we will have vanity emails - meaning you can sign up for an email address and we will forward mail from it on to your regular email account.

We'll also have a limited number of email accounts for officers, and things like contactus, admin, etc that can be checked over the web. As we see how much space/usage this involves, we could open that up to more members.

So Please PM me or email me if you are interested in a vanity email address @texianarmy.org.

Great use of Mambo/Joomla!

One suggestion is to poll the leaders of the fan club and decide if you want to offer "usermenu"......which entails showing User Login and what 'degree' of participation that is allowed from 'specific' and/or 'general' Users...

In my experience with Joomla; I've non-Published the "usermenu" altogether for streamlined controls......specific permissions can be set for specific individuals through the Admin login...

Yep. It's on the list. Biggest hurdle now is to quickly get a store up so we can signup members online and have them pay right away. Then of course expand that for scarves, shirts, etc. Also Calendar and GoogleAds to help pay for this stuff. :-)

The myspace.com/texianarmy group is in the top 20 on google for texian army, and there's not hardly anything there.

Although google still has the old site cached (with the correct new URL)... but that'll get cleaned up soon enough.
