In a statement published by Italian daily Repubblica, the memeber of AS Roma's notorious ultras hooligan group claims neo-Nazis across Europe met in Braunau in Austria to plan attacks against supporters from Islamic countries during the World Cup in Germany from June 9 to July 9.

"We are united. For the first time we are talking and planning together, with the English, the Germans, the Dutch, the Spanish, everyone with the same objective. At the World Cup there will be a massacre," said the Italian ultra.

"We will all be in Germany and there will be Turks, Algerians and Tunisians. The Turks, we can't stand them. In our country (Italy) there are not many, but in Germany, there are many of those guys there. They are Islamic terrorists.

"We will attack them. They are all enemies that need to be eliminated, just like the police. If we make the Roman greeting (the fascist salute) they put us in prison. We will be tens of thousands. Nothing but the English are feared."

Security really needs to pick up 10 more levels in Germany this summer. I won't be suprised if the police and military lash out on the crowds...and its all becuz of these people.

how seriously should we take something like this? im not muslim (or religious for that matter) but i could easily be mistaken for one...

i guess the best thing would be to stick to crowds cos the italian gangs seem to hate mob vs mob violence cos theyre a bunch of cowards...

certainly wont be too adventurous during my time there, if i do make it...

Not seriously at all.

Is there any group around today that is more full of hot air?

And I can assure you that if neo-nazi groups show up and try to start anything, the German police will be on them and cracking skulls in seconds.

I tought AS would be a left winged club,
while Lazio are the right wingers in Rom

To the article:
It´s horrible, how many idiots are on this planet.
If it´s serious, i doubt it, but police will be prepared.

Racist pigs seem to be able to bridge that divide. Both teams, and indeed many in Italy, have a major problem. I guess that's what happens when you have to watch Italian football.

:D

In all seriousness, this is most likely an empty threat.

What a ridiculous statement! The German police don't crack anyone's skulls. They tried years ago on the "Automatons"--the anarchists---& their skulls were too hard! So, "AH" (that's short for Aarhus-not "asshole" -in case you didn't know)---not to worry.:p

Those guys are utter scum, but I highly doubt they'll get together anything even remotely ressembling an "European neo-Nazi movement" anytime soon.

And usually, despite all their talk about the next national socialist "revolution" being just arround the corner, they are more into cowardly beating up a single, helpless person anyway...

yeah i agree, there way to stupid to get anything togather so they'll make empty threats. we should be more worried about the safety of the trusty barstools.

A european Nazi or nationalistic movement is a contradiction in itself. They won't accomplish anything. Additionally they will have a hard time even crossing the border this summer.
So, no reason to bother, I'm absolutely confident the german police will do their job. It's probably not possible to stop every single idiot from rioting, but there won't be a massacre.

Fascism, despite being a nationalist movement, had a certain element of internationalism.

Fascism, despite being a nationalist movement, had a certain element of internationalism.

True, especially the italian facism found many admirers across Europe, but I'm reading books on the french National Front at the moment for my history studies and it's really funny how they struggled to find allies in Europe or to form a parliamentary party in Brussels. The flemish nationalists didn't want to cooperate with their walloon fellow countrymen, the italian facists disagreed with the german nationalists about the Südtirol question etc.
Today the plurality of different nationalisms makes it almost impossible for these fanatics to join forces.

And even if they should make an agreement for the World Cup I very much doubt that they will achieve anything. The european police forces cooperate rather smoothly and should be able to prevent most of these muppets from entering the country.

It's all about having common goals. Personally, I think globalization makes a European nationalist movement more likely rather than less.

Early NS had a pretty complicated relationship with fascism, but issues like Südtirol were put aside later.

I don't think that has any thing to do with USA or Iran. Osama bin Laden will target any western country he can, whatever their stance on the whole Iran issue, just becuase they are western. :(

Too much hate in the world.:(
