I don't wish him any harm but this is good news. How many times did he get skinned on the flank on Monday? All I can say is thankyou Gabs for being an awsome defender!

UP THE HAMMERS!!!!!!!!!!

I actually thought that Dailly did a pretty good job on Monday. He recognises that he doesn't have the pace and therefore stood of the player coming at him a bit to compensate.

Scalonia hasn't convinced me as yet and I doubt that we will keep him but he is sure to be the one holding down the position untill the end of season.

I thought Collins also had a good game but think he would be too slow to go out on the right.

Who plays right back in the stiffs?

One of our more loyal servants needs to be treated with a bit more respect.

With all the matches coming up in the next month, bad news. It is bad news if anyone goes down really.

The post was not intended to be disrespectful to Christian Dailly, but on reflection I could have phrased it better, my question really was to ask for your thoughts as to whether it would be better for the team to have, or not to have the services of CD for the remaining games of the season.

Quite right too.

Oh, and he should of course always be referred to as CDFG ;)

100% agreed. Dailly did get caught in a nap a few times on that flank on Monday, but overall he brings speed to defense. In the next month we've got some hardcore old fashioned attacking clubs to contend with, we need every starting leg to be healthy.

If anyone on here can name a better all round, play anywhere, back up player, that is as loyal; and who puts in as much effort as he does, then I will listen. Until then the Dailly knocking, boo boys will get no support from me. Tony.

Totally right. He aint got the most skill but he is a splendid squad player. We will miss him, and if Mullins or Reo Coker get injured we will miss him a lot!

We should never lose sight of the contribution that the loyal players at our club have made.

When we were in the Championship Dailly played in a match where, due to a collision, he lost several teeth!! They went onto the pitch after the game to retrieve them.

Also not long before our successful playoff final Dailly's father died, leaving him naturally distraught. I remember him being interviewed after the game and still have vivid memories of the mixture of emotions he was experiencing. But despite all this he still appeared for his club.

On the pitch I find him to be a useful utility player but strongest in his natural position of defensive midfielder. He gives a strong aerial defensive 'wall' in front of the back four which is just what we need when (attempting) to defend a lead.

So, now that he has found his natural position, Dailly gets my vote as a much needed player on our squad.

A big tick for CD, 9 posters for and 2 against, btw, his loyalty & commitment to the club has never been in doubt.
