I know you guys don't really think much of him, but this is the man that brought me to love this club. I remember watching a Goodison game in his first season there and there were Asian people working at Goodison and Asian fans. I didn't know that Li Tie had been at the club and then I found out he was playing and make some crunching tackle on someone (don't remember I think it was against Man City or something). That is what I remember most about Li Tie, is workrate, his effort. He may never have scored for Everton in any competition, but damn he tried, and it's too bad he suffered through many injuries (including this latest blow). :(

I always thought Li Tie was alright.

Like you say, he seemed to have a good attitude, and he contributed more on the pitch than a number of our signings ever did.

The part I didn't understand is why he's gotten so little playing time of late.

Did he have a falling out with Moyes, perhaps?

He's had a long standing ankle injury which has bothered him ever since the Arsenal game. Li Tie is a quality professional and I have seen no news of any complaints from Moyes or himself about his lack of playing time.

Well like ive said before he said soon after coming back to the reserves that he was scared about playing on after breaking his skin. This didnt sound good.

Then with Carsley great performances last season he wasnt gonna get a look in.

This season hes still struggled in the reserves and hasnt look like he could impress with the first team. Add in Neville and how well hes done as our DM. He isnt better than Neville so he aint gonna get in the team and he isnt as good as Cahill or Arteta. That leaves Osman who usually players a more attacking role than Tie can do. Then add in VDM, Davies and Kilbane he dosent really offer enough to make the bench.

Him being released is the best thing for both parties.

Not surprised.

Does this mean you're no longer an Evertonian, Hertha?

Ex-Fulham player Junichi Inamoto said the same thing after breaking his leg. He went to Cardiff and people wrote him off as being out of shape, but now is back in the Prem with West Brom. A player just needs time after a scary injury - and sometimes a change of teams.

Be careful how you answer this one, Hertha.

I have a feeling that Sara is regretting her decision to add a 2nd Evertonian mod and is looking for an excuse to regain sole dominance here. :)
