It's about time that Pekerman/Argentina received a bit of good news related to injuries.
I hate to say this, but the team will have an extremely difficult time progressing very far in the World Cup. We all know about the defensive/goalkeeping weaknesses; however, I think the injury problem will be significant this summer...mainly because you have games every 3 or 4 days. However, I certainly hope to be proved wrong.

hmm I dunno, so far I think we may get lucky as players that I think we missed badly for the last 6 months are returning and perhaps with enough time to get back in good form... Heinze, Mascherano, Ayala will all certainly make a difference;)

In some ways getting a break now (even if it is through injuries) may not be such a bad thing, it means they will al be fresh for the world cup without the burn out factor. I think Messi getting a months break worked out well for him.

As long as they are rested and not rusty, maybe a little break for some players will be advantageous. I guess we'll have to wait and see.
Did you guys catch the goal by Tevez yesterday? Very nice. On the other hand, both him and Riquelme failed to score from penalties. Not just missed, but they were both horrible kicks, which can be a bad sign, considering how important making your penalties can be at the World Cup.

I saw Teves miss a penalty last season for Corinthians, and it was a horrible miss as well, went about 20 yards over the bar. Got to practice those penalties. ;)

I think things will work out. Mascherano looked very good to me yesterday. Tevez looked good too except when he kicked the penalty.
The only one I am realy worried about is Heinze. He is very important to the team.

Yes Heinze would be a great asset if he could play , but having Mascherano back would allready help and as long as Messi and Aimar stay well than we have a good offensive push!! Ayala needs to be well as well, but that seems to be coming along well. Heinzes issue would be that Fergie does not use him this season anymore ,as the English league will be over sooner than most:( ... this would leave him rusty indeed.

I know this strays off topic...but Saviola missed one today as well. However, I know he may not be a starter this summer.

Guys thanks for the updates on the star players who have been missing in action because of injuries, we want all of them to be ready for the world cup. About Heinze, to me he will be ready, we are looking at two months and some days and reports say that he is ahead of his recovery schedule. However i wouldn`t be worried even if he goes when not fully fit, Ayala is back to full fitness and have you been noticing how Gabriel Milito has been peforming? to me among the top two defenders in the primera.
He had another commanding super peformance versus real madrid, man of the match as he marshalled the Zaragoza rear guard with prolific proficiency, what a mistake Real madrid failed to sign him when they had a chance. I wish Barca sign him, terrific talent and he has been consistent season in and out.
Also guys help me out here, do you think Barcelona has a chance of signing either Gago or Sergio Aguero? wow how i wish we get both of them if not at least Aguero. To be honest Perkerman must be having sleepless nights as regards the squad selection now especially that most of the injured players are returning to full fitness.

Yep both of thier kicks were direct and low plus they lacked enought power, any way Roman seemed tired in that match but he tried and they kept fouling him, looked like that was thier game plan to try and stop him. As for Saviola he worked very hard and should have scored but unlucky with around 9 games to play and the uefa matches he will be back to his very best. The question is, is it to little to late for him to convice Pekerman to take him to Germany?

Ayala is not hte man he was... to me he is one of the problems. He should not be the starter.

True Ayala is slow and not the man he once was and in a back three I would not start him... but in a back four he would bring experience and leadership and I would risk starting him.... nice to hear Gabbi Milito is doing so well:D

Very good news about Aimar there, he won't be out for many days.
About Ayala, he is the player who brings lot of experience in our defence so he must be there at the WC.

Does anyone know why Aimar seemed to fall out of favor in Valencia. I know his fitness is never that great, but he has tremendous talent and the fans always love him. Easily one of my favorite players to watch...too bad Pekerman didn't think so.
