Two posters have referenced and injury to Rimando, but I've yet to see any news on the subject.
s0ccerm0m mentions it here (http://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showpost.php?p=7896486&postcount=236)
Mikey Mouse, with an eye witness account (http://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showpost.php?p=7897074&postcount=11)

Anyone mentioning this as a good thing for United, or a "blessing in disguise" will be monitered by the Rimando Army.
And if he is seriously injured to wear he misses signifigant time...

Wow! Not good news with 10 days to go before the season begins....
Regardless of whether you prefer Troy/Nick, I want the team healthy heading into the season. Because if something happens, do we want to rely on an apple? Or would you prefer for Troy/Nick to come in?
No brainer.....

Look, of course I don't want to see players getting injured even if they are our most hated rivals. All my comment was implying is that it might not be such a bad thing if Perkins gets to start the opener over Rimando. I chose to type my feelings in 3 words instead of some long winded post. Let the overreactions keep coming....

Seriously, it's not like we're talking about Chris Armas here.

Injury update
Following months of wading through the recovery process following a concussion and two weeks after hernia surgery, Alecko Eskandarian returned to live action for D.C. United last night. The forward played the final 22 minutes of his club's 1-1 draw with Houston.
While David Stokes (quad), Matt Nickell (hamstring), Santino Quaranta (hamstring) and Josh Gros (knee) have stepped up their training sessions of late, Bryan Namoff (groin) has returned to the Nation's Capital in order to seek additional insight on his injury. Nick Rimando (foot) remains in Charleston with the club in order to maximize his rehabilitation process.
So, affirmation, but no details.

Was Perkins ready when Rimando put forth an MLS Cup winning effort later that year?
Oh, I know, how about the shootout against New England, was he ready then?
He sure was ready when he let Ruiz score a soft goal in Germantown last Summer. And then again a half hour later in the shootout when he didn't keep a single ball out of the net.
Right.
