Compper) - Delura, Gentner, Alushi, Grote (Thomik) - Gomez, Dejagah (46. Epstein).

U-20 national team: 3-2 victory for the DFB-team (DFB = German FA) in Austria

Scene from the match in Austria  :D

The U20 national team of the DFB beat in Traun (a city in Austria) host Austria at a Wednesday match -
The match was part of the 4 nations cup
(Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Austria).

The host had the better start into the match, that was watched by 1500 spectators. After 4 minutes Martin Harnik from Werder Bremen made the
1-0 for Austria.
4 minutes later Pascal Bieler saved the ball from his own goalline.
The Hertha defender (Bieler) could later make the equaliser.
After the equaliser the German team played a lot better than before
and had good chances by Ashkan Dejagah (37.) and Mario Gomez (44.)
to score the lead before the half-time-break.

After the break the team of DFB coach Uli Stielike kept control of the match..
Denis Epstein (58.) and Paul Thomik (80.) made the deciding goals
for the DFB team.
The host could only made the reducer by Roman Klenas,
who scored a penalty after 87 minutes.

"We didn´t get into the match until the 1-1", Stieleke analysed after the match. "Then we were superior and deserved to win the match."

The German set-up:
Neuer - Ottl (82. Schöneberg) Cimen, Bieler, Reinhard (60. Compper)
Delura, Gentner, Alushi, Grote (Thomik)
Gomez, Dejagah (46. Epstein).

Where´s my money? :D

btw: The article has a little mistake,
the German U20 played against the Austrian U21.
The small coutries like Austria, while the big ones like Germany and Italy
play four nations cup with the U20, the 4th team is Switzerland.
Here´s the set-up of Austria:
Austria: Özcan, Klein (46. Bolter), Gercaliu, Sonnleitner (79. Six), Pöllhuber, Hoheneder (55. Sencar), Öbster, Garics (64. Kienast), Mössner (46. Kavlak), Junuzovic, Harnik
coach: Manfred Zsak

That´s the table, but the other teams had more matches:
1. Italy 10 points out of 5 matches
2. Austria 6 out of 5
3. Schwitzerland 6 out of 4
4. Germany 4 out of 3

No, there´s a mistake in the article.

The Austrian FA has many differences in the analysis of the match,
they write, that Austria had good chances to score the 2-2 in second half,
while the German FA writes, that their team dominated it. :D

Yes, the German U20, but the Austrian U21.
(Austria plays with their U21, because they have no U20)

Another source is Werder-online, their article is focused
on 18 years old Harnik, who scored for Austria and plays at Werder U23. :D
So many different U teams, i summarize:
German U20 beat Austrian U21 3-2 in Austria at the four nations cup.
The first goal for Austria scored a player of Werder Bremens U23.
The German goals were made by Bieler (Hertha U23), Daniel Epstein (Collogne)
and Thomik (Unterhaching, 2.BL).
The second Austrian goal was made by Kienast (Rapid Vienna).

Btw:
Harnik was born in Hamburg
and has a German and Austrian citizenship,
because of his parents.
He decide to play for Austria and made already 6 matches
for the Austrian youth teams (according to werder.de).

1:1 Bieler, 24th minute
2:1 Epstein, 58th minute
3:1 Thomik, 80th minute

Dejagah and Gomez had major scoring chances, but didn't hit the back of the net.
