My roomate just picked up FIFA world cup yesterday on a whim. not a bad game, i was suprised, it has the usual fifa shit that i hate (terrible player ratings for those who aren't "stars", dumb down tactics) but its fun and will tide me over till winning eleven 10 comes out. :eek:

right now im top of my world cup qualifying group with ireland with 18 points from 6 matches, outscoring opponents 14-1. robbie keane tied for the goal scoring lead with 6 goals. it helps that i randomized the groups and have only the czech republic as a halfway decent squad, and ukraine( who plays with three at the back so duff and reid tear them apart)then it's georgia, moldova and kazakstan. Ireland to Germany in no time!

Just got Histon of the Conference South (at the start of the game) into the Premiership in time for the 13/14 season. I won the FA Cup with them while in League One, and got into the UEFA Cup 1/4 finals afterwards, losing to eventual winners HSV. I also was Scotland manager for 4 years, winning the European Cup and making the WC Quarter Finals, as well as the Confederations Cup Semi's - Darren Fletcher was unreal in the role I used him, scoring 16 int'l goals in those 4 years and becoming worth £32mn. Only downside is that with Histon I need to keep wages quite low due to my stadiums 5,800 capacity (and that is after 2 expansions).

Don't know, if there is I doubt it would work on a Mac. Still, I reckon it's better this way - makes the game tougher and more realistic/fun as you notice just how big the gap between the big clubs and small ones is. You can't just buy and sell huge number of players either - five or six of my current first-teamers have been on the team since the Conference.

yeah the fact that the world cup was on, and my roomate scooped up fifa hs pulled me away from fm. my last game i was with wigan struggling in the opening stages of the premier league after getting fired from the england job after losing 2-1 to france in the round of 16. i thought i was better than erickson. i guess not. it would help if i didn't suck chode in fm. as soon as a tactic that i actually designed myself gets broken after a month or so, i just cannot get another one that works. even when i get frustrated and download some just so i can get some breathing space, none really seem to make much difference.

and i lost with ireland in the world cup final yesterday. :(
