It started, by the way, with Ronaldo back in 1998. Proper Ronaldo of course. Nike brought out a range of boots called 'Mercurial' - the best boots i've ever worn actually - and then they brought out the ones Ronaldo wore. Blue, Yellow with Silver trim and they were called 'R9 Mercurial'. After his name and number.

I hate that shit as well; always have, always will. I don't know if it is quite as bad as the cheesy, tacky abbreviations like C-Ron, T-Ho, etc though. Is it really that hard to type out the name of a player? Unique nicknames (e.g. Robbo for Robinson) are fine imo, as are initials (SAF for Sir Alex Ferguson), but that stupid TH14 or C-Ron stuff gets right in like a rash under my foreskin.

BTW - I'm with you completely on this...and my girlfriend also can't STAND that commercial. It's sad that we actually long for a decent commercial on FSC.

At the moment what really annoys me is snow. This is the 5th fcukin' weekend in a row of snowfall. Bring on spring and the start of the MLS season! Until then I've got EA Sports FIFA '07 to play and La Liga Mexicana on TV to keep me from getting cabin fever! Although I think it's already set in!!!
