View Full Version : Henry-Myhre incident.
Its only Ray Parlour

Did anyone notice the very strange incident with Thierry Henry and Thomas Myhre during the Charlton match.
It seems Myhre (the Charlton keeper) passed the ball straight to Henry who was miles behind the defence during the course of open play. Henry seemed completely baffled as to what to do and simply passed it straight back to him. Myhre had a look of embarassment after recieving the pass and he promptly cleared it up the field.

There was some confusion as to whether the ball had been put out in order to deal with an injured Charlton player and who had been in possession of the ball at the time.
Thankfully Thierry made the right decision.

It seems that people here think it was a mistake by Myhre, but the fact is that Henry told Myhre to send the ball out to him - just for fun. Charlton was at this point losing the game by 0-3 and Myhre trusted Henry and kicked the ball to him. Henry looked up the field for the defenders, raised his arms as if he was saying: Where are you guys?? and then he kicked the ball back to Myhre.
Everything was just a joke between Henry and Myhre. I thought it was great, and it showed great humor from both players.

exactly, they had a conversation for about 10 seconds before that happened. I thought it was rather cool as well.

It was in the second half, I cant remember what time though. It was either around a substitution or an injury though.
