Although the song is much longer, this is the bit that will stick and we can sing several times in a row. Once we get to the third time, some of the rowdier fans in the stadium may get into it and sing with us.
Anyway, can someone print this bit out and pass it around at the game?

I cast a vote for this as our default song. Not only is it a good song... it is also relatively easy for people who can't sing to sing.

My buddy that was out at the kickaround (who graduated from UT) and I both agreed....I think this should be the default. Not because of my obvious degree affiliation, but because despite the idea of swaying (like Aggies) to the Eyes of Texas will NOT sit well with many of the people that go to the games. I can tell you as an Aggie, and someone that KNOWS how Aggies think...the non-Texian Army, guy who just shows-up to see what the game is all about won't see the swaying and recognize that as their tradition. They'll hear the singing of 'The Eyes of Texas' and then go to all of the message boards and tell everyone that the fans of the new soccer team sing their hated rivals alma mater and they'll just say it's a bunch of "t-shirt Texas fans" and you'll lose a lot of people that way. Truth be told, I know some guys that live in Texas that graduated from OU, Tech and LSU and I can tell you that they would all agree...so it's not all Aggies.

I also have a hard time with "eyes of Texas" plus with the swaying. I talked with some of my Ag friends, and believe me I will never hear the end of it if I do the swaying, or they'll be mad at me for singing the dang song. I went to Tech, so I'll just throw my Gun's Up after every score..cause that's way Dynamo....

and I know we are trying to unite under the song.... it's just the college traditions are pretty hard core, and can be pretty devicive.

Hell....post a link to midi file with the melody. I lived almost all my life in Texas and for the life of me I can't remember the melody.:confused:
