Anyone planning to see this tonight or pick it up? I wish there was a showing here in the DFW area. Would be great to see on the big screen. I will definately be picking up the DVD tomorrow though. Have seen several shows since the Black Crowes regrouped last year and it is oh so sweet to have them back. Marc Ford is still one of the best guitarists on the planet. Just about the most "rock & roll" rock & roll band around. Cannot wait to see them again in Phoenix next month.

no ... i like the black crowes and all but there's very few bands i'd sit through a concert film for.
odd how it was filmed in san francisco but it's not playing in san francisco. or maybe it isn't?
this is one of those bands i'd love to go see live, though.

The Black Crowes are just a big rock and roll cliche. Evidence A: every piece of music they've ever recorded. Evidence B: their look, which is pure 70s.
The most damning evidence: this concert film includes a cover of the most famous song by The Band. I mean, do they also do a Talking Heads cover?

Ha! that's funny. Listen to My Morning Song or Wiser Time and tell that's cliche. To each their own though. You must not be into rock & roll much. Bands like the Crowes and Drive-By Truckers continue to prove the folks who say rock is dead wrong. I subscribe to the belief that a good song is a good song whether it be by the Crowes, the Band, Patsy Cline or anyone else for that matter. If the Crowes want to pay tribute to the Band by playing one of their songs in the same venue that they filmed one of the best concert films of all time(The Last Waltz) then I am down for the ride.
BTW they don't do any Talking Heads cover but I bet they would do a wicked Crosseyed and Painless.

you're right. some music snob just snapped a vinyl in half at your audicity for listening to what you like as opposed to what his friends will think is cool. sweet.
