MORE COLOR and BANNERS

We've got the giant color bar and I am making several other thinner but long color bars. I am also trying to get 3 large black and orange checkered flags.
We need as many banners and flags and color bars as humanly possible. We dont have a lot of time so start making them!!!! PM if you want to get together soon so we can make a couple of homemade banners. I figure some Dynamo friendly and Player friendly banners are in order. If you have an idea, just do it. The more the merrier!!!

I got the material form walmart. Cheap Nylon COtton Blend and we did it with a sewing machine. Find yourself a good seamstress if you have one in the family, sketchout your idea. Cut the fabrics and let them sew it together. Then you can put the iron-on material on the fabric for the letters, draw the letters on the fabric, cut them out and then iron them to the material. Maybe put super glue on the edges make sure it doesnt come up.

We need an official 'Texian Army' banner to put at the bottom of our section. I just spoke to James and he said it could be as long as we wanted it, if we wanted to go end to end in the North End.

I was looking around at vinyl banners and holy crap they are expensive. Does anyone have any connections with a banner company where they could sponsor us and put their business on it? We could also put up a link to their business on our website. If anyone has any suggestions, let me know, otherwise I'm going to start pulling out the phone book.

Also, how big do you think we need it?

I left you and Celt a PM on this matter. Between now and opening day I am having 3 5'X8' orange and black flags made for each side of the goal and directly behind the goal. I am also developing orange and black color bars that are thinner than the TEJAS banner. I figure we can roll out the the big one before and after the games and at halftime. Between now and opening day I am willing to help in any way with the TEXIAN ARMY banner, but we better act fast.

Would $500 cover the whole of section 113, or the whole endzone (over the existing beer sign)? Either way, I'd prefer to let's pass the hat, but we might make this one of our Treasurer-in-Tahiti's first real duty, too...

Going the homemade route, I'd offer free time to work on it myself if I had any free time to offer in the next two weeks. :(

Yeah thanks for the PM. I'm hoping some people will want to sponsor us. We'll see. My mom is going to try and help me track down some places, and if not, she can do us a banner for now. It'll be a thick type of paper, but it will be heavily laminated. I've seen the banners they do before and while not "professional", they still look very nice. It'll be about 3 feet wide and 12 feet long, but it'll do if we are in a pinch. She says it'll last for awhile as long as it's not pouring down rain on it, and if it tears up, she can make another one. So, we'll see. I'll give it until tomorrow or Wednesday and then we'll make a final decision.

What I was told is $500.00 may get us a banner like Black with orange or white letters that would be "pro" at 20 feet long.
If 12 feet is acceptable and you guys know how to get it done, I say go for it and make as many as possible.

Maybe do one with "THE TEXIAN ARMY" in the middle and one on the left that says "JOIN" and one that says "TONIGHT" on the right. That would get us 36 feet of "banner". It could be decorated anyway you like since your family know how to do it. Maybe we could have a party and do some art before you laminate it. then when we put it in our section it is literally 36 feet long and will be seen all the way across the stadium, andf people will nkow they can come talk to us....what do you think?
