He has a wicked left foot, no doubt about that.

Are you serious about this kid joining Arsenal? What position does he play? His shooting outside the penalty area looks Lampard-esque.
The article i found about him is dated October 2005 so wouldnt Arsenal have him on the team list already if theyd really secured him? http://www.tribalfootball.com/october/spanishnews1011005.html
Apparently his agent is Joseba Díaz who if im not mistaken is Cesc's agent as well.

It looks very much as though he's going to join Arsenal as Cesc did several years ago, apparently he took part in a reserve match last week with the team and will be loaned out to Celta Vigo for the remainder of the season.

Well the last game for reserves was the closed door friendly against Brighton. http://www.arsenal.com/matchreport.asp?thisNav=fixtures&fxid=294618&clid=4436&cpid=825
There is an "A Trialist" there but hes not named so im thinking that could possibly be him. was it Celta Vigo that has the mutual training deal things with Arsenal similar to that with Bastia?Vela supposed to be at Celta too yea?

By the way, the player in the second half of that video is another player. He looks even better than Fran Merida. Does anyone know who he is?

So is this guy our Pires replacement?
smilyfs

i seriously doubt that... not the immediate replacement anyway, maybe 5 yrs down the track??? Pires' replacement (if there ever will be a player like him) is Rosicky

He looks pretty good. It is strange to see a player use so many of these flashy skills in a match. What I'm wondering about is what type of game is this? The pitch seems small and the opposition don't seem like the most intelligent lot...they are diving into challenges and seem like they have neard even heard of 'jockeying'.:o

SKY SPORTS are reporting it as a done deal, but other than him being featured in the game yesterday, i havnt seen no official announcement of him signing for us. for some reason we rarely get a proper announcement and press release when we snatch these youngsters, could it be because AFC dont want to bring to much attention to the signings because they dont want to antagonise there original clubs further?

always keep your eyes on the ball ;)
Merida is gonna be nuts in 2 or 3 years. I'm gonna guess that he'll be way better than Cesc is currently at 19...

He looks quite good. I love how he busted out a Zidanesque dribbling move.
Bravo Wenger.
Thanks for posting this video.

Who should we take from them next? Nothing like having them serve as a feeder club for Arsenal. ;) :D
