Mmmmm, actually, I think the Revolution are closer to my college.
And just for the knowledge, I live in the upper right corner of Tennessee, basically on the borders of both Virginia and North Carolina, so I suppose DC is geographically the closest to me until Atlanta gets a team.
Ah, I forgot abou the Revs.

Have you seen the new World of Warcraft video Mr. toon posted a link to in the video games' section?
The funeral crashing one? Just watched it. Pretty hilarious.

Could you not tell by his amazement at "flying machines" Yes, as I have lived in both places, I can tell you that the NASA spacecraft taking off from Florida and Texas is amazing. Stupid southerners, all they've done is put men on the moon
And grits are yummy.

wtf are grits? Grits is a porridge like oatmeal, but made with corn meal instead of oats. It's warm and yummy, with a mealy consistency. Excellent with a little butter or cheese mixed in.
Now some really hardcore southerners (in Louisiana I know) eat grits with fried fish, but I think you really have to be a banjo-strummer to ge there.
Just for the record, I love southern food and weather, but disavow almost every other facet of life here. I'm split on the music.

Graeme don't listen to these southerners, grits don't taste that great. It's like oatmeal, only not sweet. And it looks like some sort of weird anatomical discharge.

That sounds nasty.
I liked Florida, the people were alright even if they kept thinking we were Irish. The only time I was scared was in a line at DisneyLand, it was about 7 months after 11/9, and this guy suddenly started singing the US anthem and loads of other people joined in. That was odd.
But other than that odd thing and the fact you keep thinking I'm Irish, I love America. I find it so interesting. People say that Britain has adopted the american culture, yeah maybe in the south but not up here. It's the little things that amuse me like, McDonalds menus and Hershy bars (that taste like ass) and stuff like that.

I'm still excited at the novelty of writing that :) ) and I seriously can't wait to freak him out with American culture. I'm taking him to Super-Walmart the first day, and dinner at Olive Garden (American poor excuse for Italian food). He's gonna freak. Mwuhahaha!! :D

I was on the DC metro (subway/train) last summer on the way to a Washington Nationals baseball game when suddenly the crowd started singing the national anthem. When the "O say does that star spangled..." part came, a group of Baltimore Orioles fans shouted "O!" as loud as they could (as is the custom in Baltimore when the national anthem is played), then all the Nationals fans started to jeer because of the DC/Baltimore rivalry.
Anyway, still weird that people randomly broke out into song, like some kind of musical.
