I don't venture too much into other MLS team forums except for my Galaxy. What exactly is wrong?
I'm watching the Dynamo-Wizards game and it looks and sounds like the fans really get into it.Sorry for the delayed response; I missed your question somehow. :)
I think the big problem is that the team announced its name as 1836 (which is the year that Houston was founded), and then decided to change it to Dynamo. The change occurred because leaders in the Houston Latino community -- which is a huge target market for the new team -- were pissed because 1836 is also the year that Texas seceded from Mexico, and has negative connotations in Mexican historical memory. So, of course, there was, appropriately, a debate about that, but people WILL NOT let it go on the board. So, it's just a few vocal assholes messing up the board with all this political discussion that is not relevant now months later -- when all I want to do is read about what a goal machine Brian Ching is, and not about how Mexicans are ruining our country or how the US is exploiting Mexico. This discussion creeps into EVERY thread, usually with undercurrents of racism, and it sucks donkeys. I can't even stand to see people with the 1836 avatars, it just pisses me off -- I can't wait til they let it go. I'm hoping as the season passes there will be better things to talk about.

I'm glad to see that Houston is doing well so far. Hope it keeps up better than San Jose.
