FIFA clears vice-president Warner over World Cup tickets

ZURICH (Reuters) - FIFA said on Friday that no action would be taken against vice-president Jack Warner over a World Cup ticketing controversy.
Warner is special adviser to the Trinidad and Tobago Football Federation. Trinidad have qualified for the World Cup for the first time.
Warner invited FIFA to investigate his relationship with Simpaul Travel Service after the Trinidad and Tobago Express newspaper alleged Trinidad's allocation of tickets to the World Cup finals in Germany would be handled solely by the company.
(continued) Not surprising at all, no one in T&T expected anything to happen. Here's a Trinidad perspective on the issue

Full time for Jack and Simpaul

FIFA vice-president and Trinidad and Tobago Football Federation (T&TFF) special adviser Jack Warner has legally distanced himself from Simpaul's Travel Service as the 2006 World Cup ticket scandal nears full time.
Warner, one of six ordinary FIFA vice-presidents, had his name removed as the owner of Simpaul's Travel by the Ministry of Legal Affairs early last week. The names of his wife, Maureen, and sons, Daryan and Daryll Warner, were also expunged from the Simpaul's Travel records.

Of course he went free. He's Blatter's butt boy. Not to worry. With Gulati in charge of the USSF now he'll call out losers like Jackass Warner and Jaba the Hut, err I mean Chuck Blazer. Warner is a piece of garbage and a disgrace to all of concacaf.

What a load of crap. So Jack pulls his name off the books at Simpaul and all is suddenly well with the world? Unless Warner and his family ALSO forked over any money they already made on this deal AND gave up their rights to receive any more money that is to come in the future stemming from this same transaction, I just don't see how they could let him off. If the guy has already received a million bucks from the transaction (just making up a number, by the way), how are things fine by just pulling his name out of the ownership. Nowhere does it say that he is still not receiving the exact same reward for cutting the deal in the first place, regardless of what his legal status with the company may be. Jack Warner could have used his political clout to make this same deal and receive the same compensation from Simpaul, even without being a shareholder for the company. This is a joke.

I just don't see how they could let him off.
I'll bet that if they ever tried to remove him on "Ethics", he would take the whole executive with him. He's been in there for 20+ years now and I'm guessing has files on every other member of the executive. Fifa on the whole is just really corrupt.

Once FIFA admits that there's corruption in its ranks, then it opens the door for a whole lot of other unsavory business to come out. So of course they're going to push it all under the rug. It's just business as usual with Blatter and his buddies. The biggest problem with the organization is that any island with 2 goals and a ball has the same vote as an country that contributes millions.

Big surprise, Warner rips off his own country men for millions and his ass buddy Blatter lets off the hook scott free.
I hate that man he has single handed stunted the growth and prestige of the game in CONCACAF. The only progress has been made by the FA's themselves independantly.
I wouldnt shed a tear for the man if something unexpected happened to him.

We need a "Cantona"-like ad about the FIFA leadership.
"Enough!"
I say we take off, nuke the site from orbit. It's the only way to be sure...

Solution: with the precedent now set by the Aussies, Gulati should
lead the charge to CONMEBOL. Bring along Canada, Mexico, all
of Central America. Sorry Jamaica. Sorry Cuba. You're not
attached to a landmass. Therefore, WarnerCo is attached to you.
Like a parasitic Lamprey from hell.
And then evict Jabba from his perch in Manhattan. Kick them out
of the Country entirely.
Qualification entails 3 phases:
A. a play-in for the minnows, 6-game round-robin between:
1.Belize
2.Guyana (stolen from WarnerCo?)
3.Nicaragua
4.Surinam (stolen from WarnerCo?)
winner advances to phase 2....
played in the fall after each World Cup...
would be played fall of '06 in the next cycle
B. everyone except the 4 heavies; played over the the first
18 months of each cycle, 07/08 in this instance, thus giving
more games to the nations that have less club/country conflicts
in Europe; 3 groups of 5 randomly drawn, 8 games total home/away
against your group; winners advance. 3 second place teams
and top 3rd place team then play round robin, 3 games total
neutral site one-offs, winner of this phase joins the 3 group winners.
1.Bolivia(S)
2.Canada(N)
3.Chile(S)
4.Colombia(S)
5.Costa Rica(N)
6.Ecuador(S)
7.El Salvador(N)
8.Guatemaula(N)
9.Honduras(N)
10.Minnow that advanced
11.Panama(N)
12.Paraguay(S)
13.Peru(S)
14.Uruguay(S)
15.Venezuela(S)
(each group of five must have at least 2 teams from the "North"
and 2 teams from the "South".....); 8 games/side in the group phase,
3 games/side in the consolation phase. To shorten the time
required, the Consolation phase would be a Neutral Site set-up
with the games played over the course of one week, probably
in the US, with sat/wed/sat doubleheaders at 2 or 3 locations.
C. The Octet. Played over last 18 months of the next cycle,
commencing in the summer of 08 and all of 09 for example.
7 games at home, 7 games away. FULL INTERNATIONALS
for the Big 4 home/away guaranteed each cycle. This reduces
by 4 the number of games Argentina and Mexico usually
have to play, and for the US and Mexico reduces it by 2.
1. Argentina
2. Brazil
3. Mexico
4. US
5. Phase 2 Group Winner
6. Phase 2 Group Winner
7. Phase 2 Group Winner
8. Phase 2 Consolation Round Winner
A Tier 2 nation that qualifies could play 25 fixtures over 2.5 years
to qualify.
And I just realized that this new confed will probably merit 6 or 7
slots, making this entire argument meaningless.....

I don't think we should dissolve concacaf, but Jackass Warner needs to go to jail. He's a liar, a cheat, and a crook. He's the black Richard Nixon.
