I keep seeing posts to the effect of "I'm going, but my wife/girlfriend is staying home," or ones where it sounds like the wife/girlfriend is just coming along for the ride. Who else is like me, where they're the chick half of the couple but taking the lead in planning the whole trip? Have we any women traveling alone (either single women or those whose significant others aren't joining them)?
Let's get a headcount here of all the women who're coming to yell louder and party harder than the fellas.

Ciao. I'll be there, although I dunno if I'll be louder than my friend that I'm travelling with. He single-handedly tried to get our section singing at the Poland game a few weeks ago. Yeah, he's got a big mouth. :)

I will be there with my fiance, but I planned the whole trip and he probably wouldn't be going if it weren't for me. I almost decided to get married the weekend before we leave just so we could have our honeymoon in Germany. In the end, I didn't feel like planning a wedding in that short of a time frame (we got engaged in December).

I'll be there with my husband, and I've planned all of the trip so far. Although, he's the bigger fan when it comes to talking strategy, stats, etc.

That's actually the complete opposite of what I was asking for in the first post, but thanks anyway.

I would not say no to that. I'm staying in Kirn, but since I only have set plans for four days of my trip (the three US games and the flight home), I'll be looking to travel a bit. I've been to Germany twice but not Cologne, so meeting up with a local guide sounds like fun.

we can talk about it later after you finished your plans. But to have some drink in Cologne pub with US fans? Why not? I support USMNT,it is my second favorite team. So it is always pleasure to meet some US fans.

We fly in to Frankfort on the 16th. Stay in Heidelberg till the game in Nuremberg. Than stay in Nuremberg through the round of 16 game at Frankenstadion. Hopefully we will be in Kaiserslautern or Dortmund for the USMNT game after that.
Four married guys in there 40s and a 16 year old. You are welcome to join us anywhere along the way. Two of our group has lived in Germany before and are fluent in German.
I have been listening to German tapes without much success. My son's soccer coach laughed at my German the other day. He says I am better off not even trying.:o

girl going alone =)
actually i feel a lil anxious about it (am shy; but i've travelled alone before and it wasn't too horrible); safety issues and all..
none of my girl buddies like football =( (and think i'm crazy for liking it; i live in USA which makes it even harder), and while i have some guy friends who like football, none who like it enuf to spend the money and effort to go..
so here i am, going alone =)
if you see a lost looking korean girl sitting alone at games, be friendly~~ please.
