And the decision about who hosts the final was clearly won by Berlin and not by the Olympiastadion...
But I don't think it is that much worse on the inside compared to Munich or Dortmund...

To build a roof without pillars would contravene the historic building regulations in Germany, since it would require building massive spires around the ground to hold up the roof, which would damage the facade of the Olympiastadion.
So it's either that or stop whining when you get rained on.
I wasn't away that was the reason the roof was built with pillars (I never whinned about getting rained on, either).
Whatever the reason, though, it does not change the fact that the roof does indeed have pillars and that these pillars damage the qualtiy of the stadium.
But I don't think it is that much worse on the inside compared to Munich or Dortmund...
But fans are closer the to field in those stadiums. In Berlin you have a track around the field, which really kills the atmosphere.
As for hosting the final. Berlin was always going to be the choice anyway.

I kinda wish Hertha had a Parque des Princes...yea its not as glamorous, but it's a FOOTBALL stadium.

That's why you go watch Union play, instead (or go to Cottbus).

I would love to see Union play, but never Cottbus. I don't like that club.

I understand. And Cottbus is about the most depressing place I've ever been.
