Heartbreaking loss, especially because of that missed goaltending call. But props to you for taking it like a man and not crying about it, unlike some people we know.

It was one of those games... there were a million plays, calls, & whatever. anyone of them would've gone a different way and who knows. UW should be proud, -I- don't think the best team won. But to be up 4 with 21 seconds.. ouch, just ouch. I'm actually pretty shocked at how shit-ty (enforced dash) UCONN played. At the end of the day, there's really only one thing you can ask yourself, and that of course is, where's my laptop? (http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/sportsline/main9180364.shtml)

That's a tough call, really. But the Funny thing is that the UCONN player that rebounded it had one foot out of bounds. I'll be routing for George Mason.

sucks man. you guys got jobbed. officiating was terrible. but then again, you did have some opportunities that you failed to take advantage of. that sequence early in the 2nd half comes to mind when uconn couldnt hold on to the ball, but udub couldnt convert on the break either.

It sucks (for you), but thems the breaks. Its not like you guys would have gotten past George Mason anyway. ;)

ahh yes.. something we can agree upon.
CJ is still my favourite college basketball player of all time.
As a Kentucky grad, this game made my tournament. Ever since Christian Laettner stomped on Timberlake, I've hated Duke with a passion (even more than the Browns and Bengals).

Exactly.. we could've gone up by 20 if we had put the ball in the hole.. but conversely, if we score on any of those possessions who knows if Uconn would've kept turning it over. Life being a chain of causal events and all ;)

Wow...I guess we can all agree on something. CJ was awesome. I still remember him raining 3s, then dropping back on defense twitching and jerking his shoulders from the Tourette's. Or going to the foul line, twitching like a madman, and then swishing the shot.
Also, I remember reading a SI article on him where the interviewer said he got something from the fridge, then he opened and closed the fridge door about 30 times trying to get the "correct" noise when it shut. And the reason he was such a great shooter was that as a kid he practiced for hours until he got the "correct" noise of the ball going through the hoop.

early 90s CB was a lot of fun, wasnt it?
Tate George, the Rebels, GT's Lethal Weapon 3, MacLean and Murray (UCLA's M&Ms), Hurley in tears 103-73, Hank Gathers (Lions destroy Wolverines,) Fab Five, Shaq at LSU, that bastard Baby Jordan (Harold Miner) at $UC...

I was real split on the UCONN vs. UW game. We go to Oregon State but my roomies dad went to UW so my roomie roots for UW all the time. I like to root for the more local teams if they are doing well in any sport but i also like to root against my roomie because guess what, he is a chelsea fan. So do i be happy at my roomies misfortune or sad.
Still happy that chelski got knocked outta the Champs League.

Awesome! Am I remembering the refrigerator anecdote correctly?
O/T, I'd just like to say that:
1) Seth Davis has no talent other than really, really white teeth.
2) Does Greg Gumble remind anyone else of C. Thomas Howell in "Soul Man"? You'll have to paste this link into your browser; I can't get it to pop up as part of this message:

Dude, I was being sarcastic, that shit was all over the media. It really couldn't have been more of a scandal. Why did you think it was swept under the rug?
Yeah, i'm sure that Bobby Hurley went to Duke cause Coach K showed up on his doorstep with a briefcase full of cash. I'm not saying these things don't happen, i just don't think they happen everywhere.
Anti, I'm sure this is past but with my job I MUST speak up.
I cover recruiting for a living...in college basketball with the AAU coaches, high school coaches, families, shoe camps, etc.
EVERYONE is giving hand outs, I won't argue with you because some I have tried to and they'd rather have their illusion, but it's reality man.

Oh god...now that's a name I have not heard since Brent was giving him televised fellatio.
I think Clint McDaniel is still thinking about the game somewhere in a back alley in Fayetteville.
