Hey guys, Before he went down I really felt that Robin had established himself first choice in complement to Henry, however with the signing of Ade how do people seeing these two working out together. As long as we have TH then they both are competing for the same spot, and while I belive that RvP should still be looked at as the projected starter, I worry about how Ade will view coming off the bench. there playing styles seem to indicate that they wouldnt naturally be played together.

I wouldnt worry about it....the seasons are long and players get injured and suspended, rvp will def be the first choice but adebayor will certainly see his fair share of time.

I can't wait to see them play together. Maybe Wenger will want to rest Henry for a game or two to keep him fresh for the clash with Juve.

I don't think so. The fixture list is getting a lot lighter for the next month or so, and we need the League pts.

I'd say if were up by like 2 in the half, take henry out for some rest. Other than that, he'd have to play.

I don't want to see henry rested unless we are winning. We only have 9 premiership games, and possibly 2-5 cl games left. We need to keep a player who can single handedly win games for us on the field as long as is neccessary. Maybe if we have 4th place wrapped up before the last 2 games we can play rvp/adebayor for the 2nd half of those games.

Probably the right way to do it. I suspect we'll see RVP on as a sub for both Charlton and Portsmouth.
RVP could get the start against Juve since Adebayor is unavailable. That is, if we play 4-4-2, which is not a given.

Yeah, before the injury RVP was looking like a starter for the team and he will still be when he comes back. Henry has been playin a lot, hopefully when RVP returns thatll mean some rest for TH.
Cant wait to swee Adebayor and RVP to work together, might work, but yet, it might not!:D

I think we'll see RVP come on as a sub against Charlton, and if he does well he might get the start against Portsmouth.

unfortunately, I have a feeling we will be seeing planty of Van P and Adebayor playing together next year...this Henry to Barca thing seems ominous..

this is how it is i think:
Adebayor = Kanu
Van Persie = Berkamp
Walcott = Long term replacement for Henry

VanPersie is desperately needed in the lineup. I don't see how you could even consider Adebayor over RVP.
Think about it: what is the one thing that has haunted us more than anything else recently? To me, it's the inability to FINISH. Henry is the only guy on the pitch capable of finishing these golden opportunities that we generate a half dozen times per game. Adebayor has been as guilty as anyone of squandering goal attempts.
Van Persie is EASILY the best finisher behind Henry. Robin cannot come back soon enough!

I agree. I wish to atleast see RVP in the 65th minute or so. Remember how he plays when he comes on as a sub?:)

I'm 10 minutes into watching the Charlton game. Adebayor has proven again that he is currently not a finisher. Two fantastic opportunities have fallen into his lap.

No comment about the 32nd minute?

Adebayor did redeem himself today with an excellent finish with the outside of his right foot while falling down. That is pretty impressive. I thought he had just booted it in with his left until i saw the reverse angle. Good stuff.
