Bump.

St. Patty's Day is on Saturday... what will you guys be drinking? Me... I'm drinking Kilkenny and Guinness, along with whatever other Irish/green drinks get tossed my way.

Mine would have to be Stella. It's the perfect beer. Molson Canadian is the perfect average beer. And Coors Light is probably the beer I hate the most along with Lakeport Honey Lager (if you've ever had it then you'll understand what I'm talking about). So list your favorite, and your worst beer. Oh, and Happy St. Patrick's Day :D!

Wow, have I learned a lot about beer since I started this thread a year ago. University really does broaden your horizons. ;)

I got a "souvenir" cup from Tigin while watching the United game on Saturday, since it was their kickoff to St Paddy's Day. Had a great quote on it.

"Real Irish beer is immune to green food coloring"

Gotta love the Guinness!

Alcohol. No I'm not being vague, just thought I should move it up a notch and go for the pure stuff.

Hey billy, just how big is St. Patrick's Day in Ireland? I know in one of our provinces here in Canada (Newfoundland) has that day off as a holiday, so I can only assume in Ireland it's pretty huge.

There's a parade and whatnot, but it's not as big as in America (a lot of people reckon they overdo it there; greenbeer and the likes are pretty much just a tourist gimmick). Most people get the day off work seeing as it is a national holiday and all, but some don't - a friend of mine worked a 10-4 shift last year but got triple pay for it. When we were younger (15-18) we used to go into town and get twisted... but being a college bum these days, the usual port of call is to go and get buckled in a house or apartment. Seeing as how I've porbably got the place all to myself come Saturday I am assuming I might be hosting this year. It does tend to be a challenging day to remember, mind...

Maybe just a touch... I hope they didn't get a bunch of short people to race across it. Of course, the Liffey (runs through the heart of Dublin) looks like that 365 days a year.

no little people, that i know of.

and the river looks green pretty much all year round now but not the bright green it is after it is dyed. of course if runs away from the lake now (long story) so we don't have to deal with the dye :)

I've become a fan of the Sam Adams Summer Ale over the past few weeks. It has a good citrus taste, it's pretty pale and served best colder than regular ale. Also, Widmer Unfiltered heiferweisen is pretty good.

I bought a dirty thirty of Schmidt's tonight. I bought it because it was dirt cheap and the cans have a picture of a grizzly bear standing in a stream with a salmon in its mouth. Makes me laugh every time I look at it.

This obviously isn't the same picture but I think you'll get the idea.
