There appears to be an excellent chance that Rooney will play in Wednesday's friendly vs. Australia. And if he does, he will become the youngest England player of all time!

Eriksson commented to the BBC:

"Wayne's only 17 but Pele was 17 when he won the World Cup in 1958 in Sweden and he scored twice in the final. Everyone that I've talked to says he's a special talent, so why not look at him in a friendly game."

Good luck Wayne and Richard!

Yes, I'll say that Wayne puts one in the old onion bag.

BTW, David Beckham will reportedly be Wayne's chaperone for the game. Ain't that sweet! :)

As long as he's not giving him interviewing tips he should be fine. ;)
