where should we all go on friday night? crowded place. quiet place with lots o'seats. in between?

everyone will be too late to enjoy the $15 special at Durkins, and if we want to go there, it'll be a sausage fest around that time anyways. I'm trying to think of what other bars would be fun.

You and I should go to Durkins before everyone else arrives, get some cheap pizza and beer, get a nice buzz going...

Gotcha. I love donkey kong. Thinking Man Pub near my house has one of those video game machines that has 5 or 6 of the classics on it that you can choose. Of course, donkey kong is one of them. I love the nostalgia.....before Mario was super, before he was eating magic mushrooms and fighting evil turtles....he was wacking barrels with a hammer thrown by a big monkey.
Agreed-I downloaded Frogger on my cell phone! Love the old school games! :D

Contra owns all.

RBI Baseball owns all sports games.

a friend of mine played baseball at IWU. each player had music that was played when they came up to bat. His music was the RBI Baseball theme. and when there were runners in scoring position the person doing the music would play the other RBI song, just like in the game.

Semi quiet place with good beer selection, good music and lots of seats? Does that exist? :D
Cam, Meg and I should be to our hotel by 6:30, check in and head out to meet you guys by 7:30 or so-does that sound about right?

True. You are not a true dork until you beat it without dying.

RBI Baseball owns all sports games.
Double True. With Tecmo bowl possibly second.

That is the coolest thing I've heard today. Seriously.

That's probably a very good thing (contra). After the Sega Dreamcast got hacked NES emulators started coming out for it. It turned out that you could fit every NES game ever (2000+) on one cd-rom. It's a bizarre nostalgia hit. The ability to save any game any time makes passing the most ridiculously hard games doable. (yep i'm a dork).

i do now!

let me think about places to go. Messner's (crazy girl story) might be a good place because at that time it won't be crowded, they have a good beer selection, and tehre are huge tables in the back.

i've got some old NES games emulated on my PC. my bro just found out about a controller that plugs in via USB for NES emulators.

well, i'll get her number this time :D

there are loads of places we can go. The Globe, Brownstone (both near me), The Schoolyard, Sheffields (one of the best beer selections in Chicago, Mystic Celt (horrible techno music though), Cullen's. the list goes on and on.

Good call, In the day I probably played Blades of Steal more than Tecmo.

controller: that's cool.

The DC was/is great for the hand held controller/TV factor. I might have to pull it out of storage some day soon. I still have every rom, let me know if you want a cd copy, it'd be free for me to mail it to you.
