I've tried to get into following the MLS, but it's never stuck with me.

I've been getting into it more and more as the league has gotten better.
I think having a club to root for would really get you into it more.

I've gotta say, those Columbus Crew colors are pretty bad-ass. Black and yellow. Even their symbol with those tough looking mo'fos on it looks good. Maybe....
I always thought they looked like steel workers. And we all know where that industry has gone. They work hard, they play hard. ;)
I'd encourage you to become a Fire fan as I think Section 8 is about the most dedicated group of American soccer fans around. But the thing is, Dave Sarachan is kind of an idiot so things could get "interesting" this year. IF you're not willing to put up with that possibility, we might not work. At least we have a new stadium.

I'm going to watch the first Dynamo game today -- if Zinny's story about the MLS webcast is true. It's been hard to get into the team on BS, because the board was so focused on bitching about the team name change awhile back; it was unbearably annoying, and I've been unable to get into the discussion there since. Everytime I see someone blow off about 1836 it's like fingernails on a chalkboard.
Hopefully, they'll start focusing on the football as things get rolling today. I will be anyway, even if I don't have an MLS forum that matches this one. :) Maybe I'll be an MLS fan at the end of the season. We'll see.

I'm going to start following the MLS this season to get used to it seeing as Toronto is going to have a team for next year. I honestly can't wait for Toronto to have a pro soccer team. For the longest time all we've had is the Lynx (complete shite). This season I'm probably just going to root for Dynamo because of the Canadian connection (Onstad, De Rosario, and Serioux)

Who are your star players this year. The Crew have Eddie Gaven, a player I really like. The Wizards are out of it because they have that twat Johnson.
I forgot about the new stadium. Hmmmm.....

1.A generator, especially one for producing direct current.
2.An extremely energetic and forceful person: a vice president who was the real dynamo of the corporation.

See Pryme's definition.
What specifically this has to do with Houston? As a Houstonian, I have no idea. However:
According to the Dynamo GM, Oliver Luck:
"Dynamo is a word to describe someone who never fatigues, never gives up," said Luck. "The new name is symbolic of Houston as an energetic, hard-working, risk-taking kind of town. To me, Dynamo has a blue-collar feel to it, as well as an association with the energy business, which is one of the things Houston is known for. We think this is a great name that Greater Houston can rally around."
Apparently there were some innovations with dynamo generators in Houston as well. Also, we had a USL soccer team for one season, 1984, called the Houston Dynamos.
It's not a bad name. And I'm glad we're Dynamo and not "the Dynamos".

At least it sounds cool. Most people will probably never care to ask what it is anyway.

Chris Rolfe (scored a nice goal yesterday), Justin Mapp (pacey winger), and Thiago (Brazillian playmaker) are the best three I'd say.
New stadium is supposed to be ready in June... supposed to.

How large is the pitch at the new stadium going to be? I like a big, wide field.

hey twins whats it like in california right now. when i was there i was at a resteraunt steelhead or something, half the resteraunt was ucla fans and it was the bama game, and half the side was up cheering and the other half was down sitting (usc) fans. is it still like that our have most usc fans stopped carrying about basketball.
I honestly wouldn't know how it is at game time because I've stayed home to watch the games with my dad. With him being a Trojan Alumni (hard to believe, I know), it's doubly sweet to rub in our victories to the misery associated with USC basketball.
And yes, that means I could have been a USC legacy admission. I wanted no part of it, I already had bad enough memories as a child of wearing a Keyshawn jersey and doing the V for Victory (which I've realized is 2 for 2nd best in LA, there aren't enough fingers in the world to indicate where the SCum sits on a national scale).

FT. D.C. United 2-2 Red Bulls. A cracker of a match. Eskandarian with a heck of a volley on United's first goal.
