I wouldn't complain about gas prices if hybrids weren't 50% more expensive than their gas-counterparts.

alright, I for one happen to think this is outrageous, and it's not only gas prices, rent is going up, prices all over the city are going up, and the middle classes are being beaten into the ground with this. My family has been directly affected by all these changes and although many can't relate because they're either too rich (prymetyme) or on the other end of the spectrum, it's becoming increasingly hard to live here.
Oh I don't doubt that prices are increasing faster than real wages for the middle class. Earning power is down, no argument there.
I'm just sick and tired of hearing about gas prices this, and gas prices that... Everywhere. I. Go. It's on TV, its on the radio, people at work talk about it, people I walk by on the street. Geez, enough already.

well yea, because it's a major issue, however I know where you're coming from. I am more pissed off that I'm hearing about it so much, and it seems to get worse with every report, meanwhile nobody does anything to change the situation.

Tell us more about this sandwich. You know, bread type, condiments, etc.

What can you change? It's a market economy, they can charge whatever they want so long as people pay it. When the price gets too high and causes a dropoff in gas consumption, then prices will go back down. Simple as that.
EDIT: I take it back, you can change something. The ridiculous red tape that companies have to cut through to build refineries and increase supply. That and allow drilling in ANWR, but that latter suggestion might cause Sierra Club members to simultaneously die of heart attacks, lest their precious caribou that reside nowhere near the oil reserves be subjected to *gasp* human excavation on their precious grazing lands.

I better not see him on My Super Sweet 16 getting a new Beemer.
If that happens I'll make sure he never posts on these boards again. :D

Gas in Toronto costs any where from $1.00 to $1.10 a Litre. Thats quite a lot of money. And I don't drink Starbucks on a daily basis. The last time I had it was a few months ago. I usually get a Tim Hortons double-double (any one who is Canadian or has ever been to Canada long enough will know what I''m talking about). Those coffees cost around $1.10.

Yeah prices are up, my main point was that I wish it would stop being the topic of everything all the time. Guess I shouldn't have mentioned it in the first place then. ;)
When I do go to Starbucks, I'll usually just get a small ("Tall"... idiots) coffee of some sort. I can't understand the fascination with people and their elaborate "coffee-style" drinks.

I think it was George Carlin who said the longer and complicated the name of coffee, the bigger the asshole you are.

If it sounds exotic, the price becomes exotic. $4.25 for a coffee is a lot of money. Smart marketing ploy by them though. Damn those Seattle...people? Microsoft, Starbucks, Nirvana, Seahawks, "Sleepless in Seattle", the list goes on and on.

I just finished my last assignment of the year, and all I have to do now is hand it in before 12pm tomorrow. Then I've got a job interview at 12.30, in one of those places where it's seemingly a case of 'if you get to the interview stage, you have got the job'. So things are looking up nicely. Let's all pray that I don't sleep in! :)
Oh, and right across the road from my college I can get a white cappucino (a damn tasty coffee, and not too wanky imo) for €1.65, about 300mls in size.

Who wouldn't want Popeye working for them? If anything I would be more likely to get the job! :)
...and my final bit of happiness: downloading a new episode of South Park (we're a few weeks behind) and getting to sleep.

That reminds me... I need to download the new Doctor Who. The new doc is growing on me, though I really liked Eccleston.
