Our spring practices last year were supposedly God's gift to football, which tells you everything you need to know about spring practices. I don't put much stock in the reports, which are once again raving about our "commitment to toughness" and our vast "improvements" and "shedding the 'soft' label."
USC lost Booty, but he's apparently been named the starter. I give it about two games before the calls start pouring in for Sanchez.

we charge an arm and a leg because were a private top tier university. thats not a knock on public schools, its just the way weve always been.
it is getting rediculous though

Who Won The Gauntlet Again?!?
Who has the most team NCAA championships in the nation?
Who produces the most pro athletes in the nation?
Who produces the most Olympians in the nation?

USC fans never cease to amaze me. They lose the Gauntlet, it's like "it doesn't matter, it's all crap sports anyway. We own you in football." When they win it, all of the sudden the tune becomes "SEE WE ARE SO MUCH BETTER THAN YOU IN EVERYTHING!" But twelve months ago, I thought it was irrelevant?
Same thing in basketball. We beat them and they're like "Who cares about basketball anyway? We still rule football." And when they win in basketball (every once-in-a-blue moon), the party line becomes "SEE! OUR BASKETBALL TEAM RULES AND YOURS SUCKS!"
The blantant hypocrisy is just mind-boggling.

1. the gauntlet is all the games of every sport that USC and UCLA play against each other, and they take the record from all of those games and the winner wins the gauntlet.
2. UCLA fans are the last people to critisize USC of favoring there best sport. I didnt hear anything until the Rose Bowl about there football program or ours. The football/basketball comparison is bad because we suck at basketball and your still good at football.
3. UCLAjames, the answer to your last question is USC actually. We have the most summer olympic medals of any college and if we were a country we'd be 18th. Behind China and ahead of the Netherlands.
Also you two UCLA fans are obviously in a dissagreeance because one of you says the gauntlet is a bunch of sports that arent even important and the other says we have more titles in those un important sports.
I dont blame you, it must be hard being a bruin.

I was imitating an SC fan in saying that, hence the quotes. But I wouldn't expect an SC fan to catch that, since a sentence has to have the words "football", "Heisman", or "OJ Simpson is God and didn't do it" to be worth your attention apparently.

And to be fair, let me bring up how I haven't even mentioned Reggie Bush and family, Mark Sanchez, or now Matt Leinart and Dwayne Jarrett, despite the many opportunities. At this point, it's safe to assume that I'm not surprised by anything that takes place inside the circus that is the University of Soon-to-be Criminals.

OK I'll give you that. I should've been clearer. We're the top school in Olympians and Olympic medalists since 1976. I guess you guys were sending athletes to Olympics before our school even existed. I'm sure we're closing the overall gap though. ;)
Also, with regard to the Lexus Gauntlet, it's not exactly fair that you guys don't even field teams in three of our better sports (Gymnastics, Softball, Men's Soccer).

dont be a dick about it. Im not saying UCLA isnt a good school to go too. It is. The bottom line really is that you choose to read what you want, i choose what i want. I love USC. You love UCLA.
You hate the University of Soon to be Criminals
I hate the University of Chronically Low Ambition.
But i love you. :D

That was a game, the equivalent would have been your loss to Texas (which I minimally gloated about on this board, but nearly as much as I should have). What is going on at SC is a plethora of legal and NCAA violations that put the very foundations of the program at stake.
